Our visits to this restaurant have always been top notch. As a restaurant manager, I can say that the service is exceptional!! The chefs apparently take great pride in their work. more

I went here expecting that the food would be good, since it is a coastal town, and instead found that they have high costs and mediocre food. They actually serve fake crab! I don't think I have even seen that at red lobster. I ordered the bass and found that it was somewhat bland and not very fresh. The vegetables looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen mix bag and were boiled....I am sorry I tried this place! Pros: none that i could find Cons: really bad food more

I would stay away from this place. I ordered a tuna steak and the first one came out overcooked. I sent it back and got another one, which was not overcooked, but I started eating it and realized it had a terrible fishy after taste that usually comes from freezing fish improperly. I let the manager know I was less than pleased, and he didn't bother offering to do anything to compensate- so long story short, I would say very low class food and low class service. Save your money for a better restaurant- because this restaurant is also somewhat pricey for the low quality of food they serve- my fish was the same price I paid for a tuna steak at Smith and Wollesnky in Manhattan! more

WE DID GET SEATED RIGHT AWAY. OUR WAITER CAME AND TOOK OUR ORDER RIGHT AWAY. OUR FOOD CAME FAST, BUT AFTER WE GOT OUR FOOD OUR WAITER NEVER EVEN CAME BACK TO CHECK ON US TO SEE IF WE NEEDED REFILLS OR ANYTHING ELSE, THEN HE TOOK FOREVER TO GET OUR BILL. SO WE THOUGHT WE COULD JUST TAKE OUR BILL TO THE REGISTER SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT ANY LONGER ON HIM BUT AT THE REGISTER THERES A SIGN SAYING PLEASE PAY YOUR WAITER. HE DEFENTLY DIDN'T RECIEVE A TIP. WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A WINDOW SEAT AND NEXT TO THE FISH TANK, THE KIDS LIKED THAT. I DON'T RECOMEND THE SHRIMP AND SCALLOP FETTICHINI UNLESS YOU LOVE GARLIC, THEY PUT SO MUCH GARLIC IN IT I COULD HARDLEY EAT IT. BUT THE REST OF THE FOOD WAS GOOD. We have been visiting Morro Bay for five years, and the Great American Fish Co. has been one of our favorites. However, on our last visit the restaurant had a sour smell as though tables had been washed with old tainted water. It ruined the experience. We should have walked out after being seated rather than to risk it. Pros: Ambience, Good parking more
