disappointed 5/14/2012

I am a long time patron of Grape Street. That being said, I had the worst experience there on last Friday night. My husband and I actually had a night out from the kids and went there for dinner. The service was incredibly bad. It took over thirty minutes to get an appetizer and a salad. By the time we got out entree, which was Penne Ala Vodka, we were an hour in to our meal. I have had this dish before and I took one bite and almost choked. The sauce was bitter and so heavily peppered that it burned my mouth. My husband was so upset about the wait that he refused another dish and we just paid our bill and left. Also, the manager never came by to speak with us about our issues. We ended up going down the street to a fast food chain and having fish tacos. When we hardly get out it was very disappointing to have the experience that we did. We will not be going back anytime soon. more

Good food, great wines, but needs better service. 5/9/2012

Been a few times but only now writing a review. We just went with a part of 8 and everyone loved their food except oddly enough, the pastas. Halibut, Ravioli's, Steak and Eggplant Parmesan were AMAZING! Wine list by the glass is spectacular, so much to choose from. Deserts were delicious too but it always seems the servers have something else going on in their heads. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all. If you can deal with less than attentive servers, the food and ambiance are well worth it! more

What has happened to this place? 10/20/2009

Our experience at this restaurant in the past has been very good, last night was a disaster. The waiter seemed at no time to be interested in us. The tapas were a joke, nothing on\r plate was edible. The server brought our salads and never asked any of us if we wanted\r fresh ground pepper. The pepper grinder was 2 feet from our table so we took it upon our-selves to grind it. The bread was so bad that even lathered in butter could not improve the\r taste. When we complained about the bread he said ""that's one thing in the resturant that\r had a 50 50 chance coming out good"" , WHAT? The pasta with brie was so salty it made \r our mouths pucker. One of our guest had the monicotti, who had instant nausea. Later that \r night he had bowel problems. The crusted tuna was very good and so was the wine.\r The next day when I called the manager to complain, he said why didn't you say anything last\r night? It would have made a terrible dining experience even worse, our guests didn't want\r to make any waves. Our bill was over $300.00. What a waste .\r To sum it up, the food lacked love .\r We will never return. Pros: great wine and outside dining Cons: awful food and service more

Never again 7/25/2009

Two years ago i went there with my boys, and the experience was awful. From watching my waiter eat behind the counter while i am waiting for service, to the chef spraying for insects right in front of me. I informed the mgr. of the situation, but she never responded. \r Well, I should've known better than to try it again. This time i went with my son, and it was awful. The server was very nice, prompt with our drinks, than nothing from that point on. he never checked back with us, I asked for fresh pepper, never got it, and the food was nasty. The chef gave me bad brown avacado on my salad, the pizza dough was raw, the goat cheese crostini was a globbed on mess with no flavor. DON'T GO HERE!!!!! They could care less about customers and quality........ more

Original, but not Spectacular 9/24/2006

I was excited to learn of a restaurant in the neighborhoood that was not a chain, and had great food. Maybe my hopes were set too high. The cozy, intimate atmosphere reminded me of a French wine cellar. But that was where the orginiality began and ended. The wine list was extensive, and I would definitely go back again to sample some wines. The food was mediocre. Nothing special in taste, it was not memorably presented, and it was just kind of blah.... we didn't even stay for desert. \r Pros: Wine list, atmosphere Cons: food, cost more

Standard but Pleasant 5/29/2006

The atmosphere was nice inside and dining outside was pleasant once they turned off the misters that were no longer needed and felt like rain at our table. The waitstaff was very good and very friendly. The wine list was good but unfortunatley the food was average to below. We had three dishes at the table, the lamb, the vodka penne and the halibut. The lamb and the penne were disappointing without much flavor to them. I did not taste the halibut but was told it was excellent. Overall it was a pleasant experience and i may go back if I'm in the neighborhood to try another dish, but won't got out of my way. Keep in mind - they do not take reservations or call aheads. Pros: Service, Atmposphere Cons: Standard Food more

Wonderful 5/25/2006

I ended up at Grape Street for lunch on a fluke while in Vegas on business this past week. I was so pleased with the entire establishment, staff and menu that I've already recommended the restaurant to others for when they visit Vegas. The wine list is extensive, the dishes are fresh and flavorful and the staff is friendly and attentive. It's all the best you might expect if you were dining at a vineyard, but in the middle of the desert. I'll be going back to Grape Street every time I'm in Vegas. Next time it will be for dinner. I can't wait. more

Excellent Value 1/15/2004

I have dined at Grape Street at least once a month since it opened. The food is always excellent and the service great. The best however it the wines and deserts. They have many wines to choose from all over the world and value and price is the best I have found in Las Vegas. The desert are to die for, try the chololate fondue. Pros: Food, Service, Value more

neighborhood staple 7/9/2002

the atmosphere is casual. the food is great. the prices are decent. the service is always good. the wine selection is broad (and well done). the only thing complaint is with the desserts. even so, this is the sort of place you plan to go to as well as wind up going to, whether you dine in or take out. Pros: inexpensive, nice cas atmosphere, wines Cons: desserts more
