I recently purchased a fold-away table and chair set; it was delivered on a Monday but was damaged (I didn't notice until after the delivery men had left). Gothic assured me they would replace the item a few days later; on Saturday they delivered another set which I inspected while the delivery man waited. He was very nice and when I mentioned concern about improperly installed screws, he replaced them. more

I was looking for some furniture that I didn't have to assemble myself, and I felt like Gothic would be one step above Ikea. I spent a fair amount of time looking at their catalog and website before going to the store so I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for before I even stepped in the door. I came to this location on a weekend and there was a helpful woman (Greek?) who answered all my questions and let me take my time looking through the whole store. She was patient and knowledgeable and even helped me custom-design one piece. Delivery was not a problem. I am satisfied with the look and quality of the furniture I bought (a partial bedroom set). more

Gothic has come a long way but something peopel dont know is they also do custom work. We had our kitchen done and a bathroom cabinet to fit. We had a more traditional look in mind and the pc. came out fab. They also have a great design center in westchester. more

I walked in to this location after finding a table at the Murray Hill location that I liked. I found the same table, but they weren't able to deliver for about 1 week at a fee of $35. I explained that I could pick up as I lived around the block. The nice young guy that worked there agreed to sell me the floor model for 10% off and he would carry it to my apartment immediately. And so he did! I'm thrilled with the quality of the furniture, but mostly for the customer service. I would come back and highly recommend for their service. more

i bought furniture for my verrrrrry small apartment. they have great storage ideas eg. the 12 drawer storage bed i bought. i also loved the fact that i got to choose what color stain i wanted on my bed. everything came out gorgeous. LOVES IT. more

Some of the furniture is traditional in a non-stylish way, but some of the other stuff is perfectly simple, and a lot of the pieces bear in mind the cramped space within a NYC apartment (like the platform bed with the optional fitting drawers). I've had an unfinished bookcase for at least three years now and it's fine (meant to paint it myself but haven't as yet gotten around to it). For furniture that is solidly built you can't beat the price. more

We lost the Gothic Cabinet in JC and Hoboken... so now, we have to trek it out to NYC. This store is awesome - great floor samples! We were going to buy a wardrobe for our room, and instead bought a storage bed. The sales person was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! He answered all our questions and provided a great space saver problem! Great sales and the storage bed was delivered fast. I want moooooore now! Trust me I'll visit again! Thanks! more

I bought my bed here with a good friend (and hopefully more). The captain's bed contains three drawers which is ample space for storage as storage was a major issue for me. Patrons can customize their selection of finish types and choice of headboard. Turnaround time from when order was placed to delivery is approx. two weeks. Thankfully, they deliver on weekends, which is convenient for people who work during the business week. Upon arrival, the headboard is separate which the deliver men assemble by attaching it to the bed. Their mattresses are from Sealy which is known amazing for the softness and volume. I order the Serene Sky mattress from Sealy. Unlike IKEA beds, Gothic Cabinet Craft beds do not sit low on the floor, which I am happy to be sleeping above the floor. It looks good in my bedroom as I feel my bedroom has a complete make-over. I am now able to sleep comfortably and awake with renewed spirit where I am refreshed. A new chapter in my life has begun. A phone call from Gothic Cabinet to patrons is required for a confirmation of the delivery date (as per the sales invoice's fine print) and six-hour window time either a day before or two days before the actual delivery date. My delivery window was from between 10am to 3pm, which thankfully, they arrived early at 11am, which was very prompt, as I did not have to spend my entire Saturday waiting for an eternity of their arrival. Since the frame of the bed is made of wood, the stench of the wood's finish or varnish will linger for at least five days which makes it difficult for one to obtain a good night's sleep. An open window is highly desired. I received the frame and mattress in good condition but the headboard has a stain or imperfection, which is visible to the eye. Service from the administrative office is on order for a paint touch-up. N.B. The deliver men are NOT obliged by their job to remove and dispose patrons' old bed including mattress, box spring and frame. However, ""money talks"" where for $20.00 per piece the deliver men will remove and dispose which is additional to gratuity for delivery and assemble of new bed. I paid $70.00 in cash for removal and disposal of my former bed which the $10.00 was for gratuity. A non-refundable deposit is required for work to begin on a customized order of any bed. The final balance is required in certified bank check or cash format only as per the sales invoice's fine print. more

I just received my order, and because of all the terrible reviews I came close to canceling my order and was skeptic until the furniture arrived. Being a meticulous critic I looked at every inch and I was more than satisfied. more
