My two dogs were able to stay home in their own environment, eating their own food, and were not exposed to the potential diseases that can be picked up at a kennel. No chance of any other animal biting them, like in a pet resort. They were walked 3 times each day, fed, given water and made to feel comfortable by a person who seemed to be truly concerned for animals. Whe we got home after being away for 3 days, they looked happy and healthy. Their care giver also alternated which lights she left on, so even our home was somewhat protected. Great service that we will use again and will highly recommend to friends. Pros: Dogs are relaxed in their home environment. Cons: Cost more than a kennel. more

We were so lucky to have found Gopher Dogs! My husband and I travel alot and as a result were boarding our 2 dogs quite frequently, which was very expensive and also very inconvenient. One of our 2 dogs gets very stressed out and sick while boarding, the vet told us to find a pet sitting service instead. There are so many out there, how do you know who you can trust coming into your home and taking care of your babies as you would? Thank goodness for Gopher Dogs, Michalle has become part of the family and she loves my boys as much as we do. The service is very convenient, you can schedule online, have them take payment automatically, so you don't have to leave cash or a check and they are extremely flexible to your schedule. I trust Gopher Dogs with our babies and our house, being able to leave the dogs in the comfort of their own home is very comforting to us and alleviates alot of stress not only on the dogs, but on us! my husband and i have used gopher dogs for pet sitting for our dog on a few occasions. we have been more than satisfied with their service! we have a small dog who does NOT do well in kennels, so we were so very happy to find gopher dogs as we can trust them to take care of our baby when we are away! we do not worry about our dog at all while we are away because we know she is well taken care of. we love the personal contact with our sitter and checking our ""doggy diary"" online to get updates and see pictures. we recommend gopher dogs to anyone in need of pet sitting or walking services. I don't worry about our dog when we leave town anymore, because she's in the care of Gopher Dogs. The company really cares about the clients-- human and dog! You can schedule everything online, which is super convenient, and if you come back to the house early, all you have to do is call the sitter and they'll credit your account. Also, they have an online dog diary service. The dog diary lets you check in on the dog while away. Also, we've had a few family emergencies and had to leave town unexpectedly. Thank God Gopher Dogs understands things happen and took care of our dog while we left town. An added bonus is that they will bring in your mail and newspapers. I think they'll even water your plants if you ask them too. I don't know why anyone would bother taking the dog to the kennel when Gopher Dogs is so convenient and reasonably priced (compared to leaving our dog at the vet kennel). My husband and I have used gopher dogs on several occasions. They are wonderful! Very reasonably priced and we have the peace of mind knowing that our dogs are in their own comfort zone and not at a noisy kennel while we are away. We've used several dog walking services, and Gopher Dogs is by far the most professional. We can text them if we need a last-minute visit. We receive confirmations of scheduled visits in advance. I live in Waxhaw NC and my husband and I stopped traveling due to the heartache we felt having to drop our 3 dogs off at a kennel. We heard about Gopher Dogs on a chat board and tried them out. Our dogs were well taken care of and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves knowing we had no worries. The best part is the dogs were able to stay in their own house where they are comfortable. I was very hesitate at first to give a stranger access to my home and dog-but gopher dogs is fabulous. Within a day of emailing them, they arranged a home visit and spent a great deal of time learning our routine. They work so well with my busy travel lifestyle-because I can just text them when I need a walk. While it can be very expensive or an ordeal making arrangements for two dogs, Gopher Dogs can handle two plus dogs with no problem, and for WAY cheaper than a kennel. Great, personal service, pre-sitting interview and follow-up. Would use again! more

I've used Gopher Dogs many times on a last minute basis! We have 3 dogs and 2 simply would not do well being boarded. Gopher Dogs allows us the comfort of knowing they're happy, healthy and safe at home. The staff are all very friendly and accommodate the dog's specific needs. Last minute planning for my wedding I realized that I did not have the two puppies taken care of. I literally called Gopher Dogs less than 2 weeks before Labor Day and they couldn't have been more understanding and fit us into their schedules. We have a very old White Shepard, he is cripled and senile, bringing him to groomer was out of the question. I tried a few of the companies that come to your house and it was a nightmare. Our poor dog was over clipped by one company and cut by another. Then we found Gopher Dogs and it is heaven, Debbie comes and gets him, sings to him while she is grooming him and there is little to no stress on him. I am one of those pet parents that is calling constantly to find out how my babies are doing. So I would never just leave my 3 dogs with anyone. I always felt aweful leaving them in a kennel not to mention that everytime they got back home it took a few days for them to adjust. Sometimes having accidents in the house. I have been a long time user of dog sitters/walkers/groomer, I can honestly say that I have never had such an incredibly postive experience until I tried Gopher Dogs.
