Not so cheap, not so costly 11/10/2006

JC Penny is very affordable, very few things as costly. They have very fun collection of shoes. The sales they have are the best sometimes. I like going here for clothes and shoes. They have every kind of shoes whether they are boots or shoes or casual wear or dress footwear. I like the pumps and their casual shoes. I usually am not fond of flats unless they really look good but I found a very good pair at JC Penny. The Decline of a Mall 5/22/2006

At one time Golf Mill Mall was an outdoor mall. I remember getting taken there as a child even during the winter and marvelling at the snow falling in the courtyards and wanting to spend time in the toy stores. At one time, Golf Mill Mall was the place to go and hang out. As I grew up you could go to the movie theater and then hang out at the mall. Those days are long gone. What are these stores in here anymore? Except for the anchor stores of JC Penney, Sears, Kohls and target, none of the interior stores are ones you have probably heard of. It's kind of like stumbling on Bob's Leather Goods or something. The one store inside I used to like to visit was the Walden Books. The past few times I went there it seemed as if the walls of the store had somehow gotten closer. The selection of books was pathetic. The movie theater closed and has been turned into some kind of gigantic exercise center after years of deterioration and hiring of surly teenagers. The mall itself is just sad and dying. The addition of Target has brought some life to the place, but generally just around Target and not within the mall itself. Golf Mill Mall should just become an outlet mall all-together and maybe that can save this place. more

Classic Older Mall That Needs Help 5/19/2006

This mall has been around for many years and has undergone some changes. It has also had some welcome additions like Target to their impressive list of stores. There is a Sears and a JC Penny here as well. The food court is fairly impressive but I usually don't have the patience to deal with it. There is a huge Chinese buffet next to the food court that has it's own space which is an option. But for grabbing a snack or getting a cup of java and of course shopping this is a cool, kinda "retro" mall that will remind you of the 80's. You don't want people to think you haven't fixed things up since the 80's however! Unfortunately the last couple of times I went here this summer I was dissapointed that their a/c was not on thru-out the mall(if it was it was on so low that you can't feel it). The a/c was on in a couple of the stores and when you walk in them you can feel a huge difference. It was not on in some of the other stores I went into however. This is a big mistake, especially in late July with temps around 90 degrees. Also I noticed that they are letting some of the maintence of the mall slide;some lights were out, some sections need painting or plaster. One store I went into looks like they haven't remodeled in years. I wonder why they are letting things slide recently. more

The only "Brat Pack" I want to see is on the screen 5/18/2006

I grew up loving some of the classic "brat pack" type films of the 80's like The Breakfast Club and Fast Times and Ridgemont High. Those movies are great, but in real life, I do not want to "hang" with rowdy kids at the mall for hours. That is what I enjoy about this mall. They keep a tight rein on those out of control kids that like to annoy customers who actually (gasp) go a mall to SHOP!? It's a clean, roomy mall with a lot of stores (JC Penney, Sears, Target, Kohl's) and a lot of smaller, independent type shops and kiosks. A nice food court (with a great sit down restaurant, King's Buffet) inside the classic shopping area. more

Mall 4/23/2006

Golf Mill Mall is actually a pretty boring mall. Its not one of those malls you can go to with a bunch of friends and hang out for a couple of hours. There's just not enough to do there for that long. But they do have a few great stores like Target, Kohls, and JC Penney. The only thing I hate about this malll is having to walk through Sears to get to the other side. I feel that makes the mall a bit weirdly organized and scattered. But hey, you can always just drive from store to store! more

Mediocre mall, but better than nothing 1/17/2006

This small mall is usually pretty empty, has stores with only OK stock, and just leaves you feeling blah. But, if you need to shop a Penneys, Sears or Target sale, you can do it all here. I have found some bargains at the Kohl's, too. One quirk - you have to walk through the Sears to get to different parts of the mall. more

Good selection of bargain shops 8/3/2005

Golf Mill Shopping Center offers a good selection of bargain department stores like Sears, Kohls and JC Penny's. It is a pretty small mall compared to others in the area and kind of old fashioned and depressing also. I would not recommend if you are in search of high-fashion, upscale apparel or a fun shopping experience but is worth a stroll if you would like to visit the Target store within the mall. more
