I have NEVER in my entire life been to a doctor as unprofessional and as rude as Linda J. Golden.
While doing my research for a holistic doctor who can remove my Amalgams, I found Linda J. Golden' web site. After browsing for a few minutes, I decided to call. Surprisingly, the doctor picked up the phone herself which was on a Friday. I told her I needed my amalgams removed and she told me that I would need / or rather she ""suggests"" that I purchase a costly ($450 supplement) kit which is supposed to boost my immune system prior to removing my amalgams and that I can come to pick it up but she would rather give me the A-B-C's of how to use it and talk with me for a bit. We schedule an appointment, then get a follow up from her secretary a day later to confirm, then 2 days later from Dr. Golden (how many doctors call patients?) if we can schedule for a day which would be convenient for her. At this point, I had enough of plan changes and decided to stick to it and told her OK. While on the phone the few times we spoke, Dr. Golden struck me as an unusual type of doctor - one which is very sharp, a bit cold with a ""take it or leave it"" attitude - something that doctors are usually not known for. All the doctors I have ever visited were really nice and caring. I can honestly say that my gut didn't agree with Dr. Golden's phone manners and I regret not listening to my gut instincts.
The day of my appointment, I was given a tour of the office and everything was nice and clean - no complaints there! I then go to see Dr. Golden and we start talking. Surprisingly, I thought we were only going to discuss the vitamin supplements but she started to dig in my teeth to look at everything and asked if I wanted to do x-rays after 15-20 minutes of talking. At this point, I asked her if this will cost time anything? She told me that I am here for a consultation and that I will be charged $200 - this is standard practice in her field and that she had advised me that there will be a consultation fee - WHAT? we spoke TWO times, neither time did we discuss ""a consultation"", you told me that you would charge me somewhere around $450 for some supplements AND instruct me on how to use it. So then, why charge me $200 for a consultation fee you never advised me about AND why are you making me pay it? She then goes on and on about spending time, educating me, blah blah...
The matter is not about $200 - the matter is about principle and good business ethics. Should I have been warned about a $200 consultation fee, I would not have had a problem and she would have gotten more business from me. I am in business too and have been for 10 years - my clients are warned about all charges before the purchase, not after!
So after our disagreement, I told her ""you told me you were going to discuss your supplements and you did not make mention of a consultation fee"" - so now - do you feel right about taking my money - and her response was ""absolutely YES! I told her that I won't be able to use her services going forward and I walked about and paid my $200 just so I can get out of her office as quickly as possible.
Dr. Linda J. Golden is an unprofessional, sharp tongued and rude doctor and I am VERY positive many others have been coned this was as well. She might be a great doctor in her field of medicine but I think she runs a business in an unprofessional manner and it all comes down to her character or lack thereof.
Stay AWAY! You have been warned!
