My name is Emma and I am currently a student doctor at a local medical school and the middle aged mother of a little boy barely out of diapers. I also have Stage IV metastatic breast cancer- a devastating diagnosis, holding a prognosis of a 12% survival rate after 5 years..\r
When I came to see Sheila, I was on my second year of chemotherapy. This time, it was a regimen that thinned your hair out, sometimes allowing it to fall out completely.. I looked much older than my stated age. Worse, I felt it, too. I used to be an energetic woman with a mane of luxurious, long red hair. I came in to see Sheila with a lot of doubts about having the energy to beat my disease and remain on the planet long enough to help my son grow up secure and happy. Sheila was a godsend. That boost in morale was a vital part of my cancer recovery and it made me feel like my old, invincible self.. As a student doctor, I can tell you the connection between mind and body is very strong and if you have a positive enough attitude, you can buy yourself a lot of time when it is combined with effective medical treatment. I feel Sheila is instrumental in buying me time. On the occasion that I have no money in my bank account, due to medical expenses; Sheila generously does “freebies” . She’s really a very kind, professional person, and her hair replacement concepts are exceptional because they do not damage, fragile hair that most cancer sufferers grow back during their illness.\r
I am now currently free of active cancer lesions and part of this has been thanks to Sheila giving me that boost to my morale, making me feel attractive in spite of this horrible disease and lending me a degree of normalcy in a life that has the dark shadow of cancer hanging over it. Cancer doesn’t have to rob you of your beauty or your strength of spirit, which Sheila caringly demonstrates. As an immigrant to this country who has changed professions, I admire a fellow immigrant like Sheila who is working to improve the lives of others and effect a huge positive difference in their lives. In fact, Sheila Matechuk is not only changing lives with her work, she is saving them with a boost to the psychology and positive attitude of her clients who suffer from cancer. \r
You can call and ask to speak to Sheila’s clients, and we will gladly respond with our very positive impressions.\r
Sincerely,\r
