Best

I attended my friend's birthday party here last week. Great time had by all. Easy access for 25 plus people. We arranged to have the cover/ticket fee waived previously. Of course ...

Worst

It was "un-fabulous" without the mellow sounds of DJ Efabulous. Besides that the place is "just okay". Pros: Well Dressed People, great house music, great bathrooms Cons: ...

All-around awesome place for a birthday party 1/8/2006

My friends recently planned a birthday party for me here...needless to say, it was a success, thanks to the friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. Setting up the event was a breeze, thanks to the friendly and efficient coordinator at this venue. Also, it has distinct and great tasting drinks. Atmosphere was nice too...not to big that you can't find all your friends, not too small that you are all crammed in...and cool interior decoration as well. $10 at the door, but you receive a free drink ticket (which basically buys you your first drink...which can be more than $10) Pros: Friendly Staff, Contemporary interior, Good size more

Bartenders 11/26/2005

I still cant understand the concept of tipping. If bartenders work mainly on tips why do some bartenders tend to act snotty. I didnt get a thank you or smile untill me and my girlfriend finally gave our third tip. Pros: Atmosphere, Music, Wait Staff Cons: Bartenders more

Best Place to meet with Friends 8/29/2005

I have been a loyal patron of Glass since its inception! Every year I have my birthday party there. Everyone and I mean everyone on the staff is cream of the crop. I never want to have a birthday anywhere else. The people are different and not the cookie cutter New Yorker you usually meet everywhere else in Manhattan. The outdoor garden just makes this fabulous experience perfect!!! I wish I was allowed to say more but I am only allowed 150 words!!!! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, People Cons: Bathroom line more

Nice chill place to hang 8/24/2005

This is a fun chill place to hang with your friends. Drinks are good and the service is better. The only problem is that it is hit or miss with the crowd. One night you have a crowded place with fun and attractive individuals, the next it is empty. Still a great place to go. Pros: nice decor, good drinks, fun crowd Cons: hit or miss crowd more

Treated like royalty 7/8/2005

The wait staff treated my self and guest as if we were the king and queen of our own tropical oasis. Definitly try the raspberry mojito!! Admitedly i was aprehensive at first to carry around a glass filled with purple hue, but I just had to try it. My guest decided to have me as the mojito guinea pig but after she tasted the autumn sunset colored beverage amazement and jealousy came over her as she looked at her own drink wishing and hoping and praying it was my most delicious berry stricken mojito. more

Long walk 7/7/2005

Doesn't have any food which is a no no for me. After that long walk to 10th avenue one needs a bite to eat. No happy hour specials or anything like that, also a negative. Decor is nice but they made a mistake with those coffee tables. Their overall product is not worth the trip to 10th avenue and that desolate location. Pros: Decor Cons: Food more

Sorry... 2/15/2005

The decor first attracted us. We went on a fri night and in order to get in you have to pay $10 for a "ticket" which will get you 1 free drink...yep 1 drink...we asked why we needed to buy a ticket to drink when we were going to do that in the first place. Answer: management policy. Best thing of all the place was nearly empty! Sorry it's not worth the $10... Pros: Decor I guess Cons: fake cover charge, what crowd? more

snotty service 2/1/2005

Only one bartender working and a snotty one as well... too long of a wait to the bathroom and people started cutting the line.. everything is just wrong.... and the fact that they charge COVER? shame on them!! Pros: decor Cons: crowded, service, atmoshpere more

Great pre-club/chill out scene 6/21/2004

I'm a semi-regular at Glass and love it. The manager is a great fellow who makes his bar very welcoming and expresses interest to know if you are having a good time. This what one will like: 1) Music - some of the best house/hip hop in the city with new and old beats. If you like European House this is the place. 2) Crowd - can be a hit or miss but in general people here are looking to chill out. 3) Service - all fast at the bar. Helpful people 4) Atmosphere - during summer time the back part of the bar is open so you get an outdoor and indoor areas to hang out. 5) Meetup spot - since the night only starts after midnight in the city, its a good place to get all your friends together before heading out somewhere. Pros: Decor, cool design, Outdoor/Indoor Cons: , long restroom lines more

WORST PLACE ON EARTH! 5/20/2004

THE WORST BAR/LOUNGE in NYC hands down... thats enough to know but read on if you want to. i'm there for a party, we are meeting 4 girls who already have a table with bottle service. me and one other guy show up and have to wait outside for an hour before they let us in " because there weren't enough women" in the bar. this place was as bad as i have ever seen. the place was empty by 12 on a thursday, probably because they don't let anyone in so no one will ever come back. Pros: none, none, none Cons: , bouncer, no people there more

Outraged! 5/15/2004

I have never been to a more rude or hypocritical bar/club than this place. Literally minutes after they refused to let my bf in on account of his sneakers, even though he was wearing a nice polo shirt and khakis, they let another guy in who was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. I can respect that bars and clubs have their own dress codes, but Glass' selective enforcement of their dress policy is offensive and unacceptable! Cons: , Isolated location, Hypocritical attitude more

Skip this place. 5/14/2004

The nice decor does not make up for the rude and pretentious staff. The drinks are watered down and the walk to the edge of the West Side definitely didn't make this place worth the trip. The glass bathrooms are a "feature" but there are other better places with the same thing. I'm not going to be going back. more

Nice place to chill 5/11/2004

Glass is a nice place. I like it cause it's out of the way, not filled with pretentious jerks like some lounges. and the best part is the tunes. house music baby. thats what i'm talkin about. keep it up. more

Glass was half empty.... 5/2/2004

Literally. The staff was attentive, but who could blame them? the place was practically desolate on a Friday night. the atmosphere was unique, i'll give them that.. blue lighting and big open windows, but they had a smoke machine blowing so hard behind us that i couldnt even see my drink in front of me! The scene was also young and not so cool.. the majority looked like they just started to grow facial hair. Pros: Attentive Staff, Good in summer, Too small Cons: , Bad crowd more

Great People 2/3/2004

I needed an emergency palce to hold a birthday party for a friend after first place was overcrowded. Called them, told them my deal, and they hooked us up all night long. Table was nice, waiter service was prompt, and the Manager asked us how we were doing all night...I would highly recommend it. Also, there was a good crowd there, the lounge was definitely nice, but without the pretentiousness (sp?) more

Cool Chill Place 8/16/2003

Was totally surprised to feel a super friendly vibe as I walked in. Enjoyed rasberry mojitos in a spaceship looking environment where the people don't think it's uncool to smile at strangers (without wanting to hook up). DJ Melvin was rediculous on the tables- he even inspired some "break dance fighting"- overall good time had by all Pros: staff, garden, DJ Melvin Cons: two stall restroom more

Glass, as in broken! 7/20/2003

Glass located way west is a relatively small space with a very modern looking interior. Glass has a one drink minimum which one pays for at the door. This is not terrible, considering other night spots charge a cover. The long glass bar is easily accessible, yet drinks are overpriced for this wannabe trendy spot. There is an outdoor alcove in the rear of Glass, which is clearly just set up for smokers. A long white bench with tables and fake leather stools line the wall across from the bar, allowing for those drinking their one-drink-minumums to relax a little in the over air-conditioned space. One plus is the area outside the bathrooms where a large sink area exists in front of a tinted window looking out onto the street. Strike up a conversation with a fellow patron washing their hands or gaze out into the nothingness of 10th avenue. Pros: Easily accessible bar, Bathroom area, Plenty of seating Cons: Wannabe trendy, Over airconditioned!, Pricey drinks more

Skip it 4/5/2003

Went to Glass Saturday night, wasn't bothered by the one drink minimum, but be warned, the place is small and gets pretty crowded. The service was good, the drinks were a little expensive, the atmosphere was dark, the crowd was sloppy drunk, and the music was the worst part! Nothing about this bar really stands out that you couldn't find somewhere else. Skip it. Pros: outside garden area Cons: small, dark, weird music more

Very friendly 1/20/2003

The service was great and the DJ was very friendly. You don't find that often in the city. more

A Gas 10/21/2002

Terrific space for a party! Staff is tops and fun. No nasty bartender attitude. Great looking bunch, too. Had my birthday bash with about 40+ friends even while another large party came in. Didn't faze this group. We all just joined in with each other. Everyone had a great time. Food was tasty and the drink service, good and fast. Great place to hang as the crowd gets more interesting as the night moves on. more

  • A narrow, glossy bartop conjures up the elegance of a Mediterranean yacht party. Eye the cool tiles and elongated blips of white and slate that decorate the walls, leading to a lighted patio at the end of the tunnel. The white tables edged in pink translucence look like they belong in a pricey modern restaurant, but this joint is all bar. Vivacious, crisply styled sophisticates chat over bright drinks like caipirinhas and a mojito rosa made with raspberries, lime and rum. Sparkling prosecco and Bellinis join small plates of shrimp seviche and cheese with olives, as the smooth, gentlemanly bartenders stay cool through a bustling cocktail hour.
