They use a guy by the name of Charlie Greer ""Tec Daddy"" as their sales guide and watch his sales DVDs so they can better rip off customers. Don't call these people. You will pay thousands of dollars for something you never even needed. If your car needs an oil change, Gillece will tell you that you need a new car. Thats the way they do business. more

It's never a good day when you've got water streaming through your kitchen ceiling. Gillece to the rescue. Steve from Gillece was very confident in his diagnosis and repair of the problem, and it turned out he was right. He worked diligently all day to cut the ceiling open, remove the broken pipes and replace them. He thoroughly masked the area off to avoid any more damage. When he was done he actually scrubbed my kitchen floor clean. Pleasant experience overall. Cost was more than I expected but they did have to return to get it inspected the next day, so I am sure that the job was done right. more

I was skeptical about calling Gillece with all of the negative reviews that were posted, but I gave them a shot and was pleasantly suprised. Everyone that I dealt with from Gillece was very polite and professional and I never felt pressured to do anything. The serviceman Jim was a true down to earth Pittsburgher that I trust. I will highly recommend this company to anyone and am very happy with the service that they provided and the prices charged. Great value in my opinion. more

This is a class act, very professional, prompt, clean cut and they do nice work but... they're really expensive! I had two hours of work done (replacing a crawlspace turnoff, a dripping shower, and a broken line to an outside line. It came to over $500 when it was probably only $150 in parts). They did do a great job of confirming appointments, sending via e-mail a confirmation of service call, and following up but shop around and you can probably find somebody to do the job for less. They did show up within a few hours of setting the appointment and they did give me the quote up front, so it's my own fault for agreeing to the work. more

I needed a handicapped bathroom installed after subdividing my commercial retail building. Gillece Plumbing gave us the best price. He located the main line sewer, saw cut the concrete, and routed the drain piping for a new toilet and lavatory. His concrete cut was only 2 feet by 3 feet. He ran the underground and top-out waste and water plumbing in 2 days and called a successful inspection with the City of Pittsburgh. He held up no trades and installed the handicapped finish toilet and lav in about 2 hours. I highly recommend this subcontracting plumbing company for your commercial plumbing needs. more

We had fallen into the hands of another plumbing company, who over charged for everything. We had already expended hundreds of dollars and were backed up again. Gillece came out initially on a Sunday night. He worked for 3 days and resolved a complicated and challenging problem. The charge was more than reasonable, especially compared to what I had been charged by the other company. From now on I wouldn't consider calling anyone else for a plumbing issue.? more

Why do all of their many negative ads read like they were written by real people, but the positive ads sound like they are expertly written to include details about their latest special and a nice story about emergency service or treating seniors well? I highly doubt that these are real reviews based on how many bad reviews are out there on other sites and complaints to the BBB against them. I had a very serious problem with my furnace. My carbon monoxide detector was going off in the middle of the night last Tuesday night. I immedoiately called 911 and the fire department was out in within ten minutes (Thank you South Baldwin VFD). The fire department was able to determine that the problem was with my furnace and they shut it off. I was relieved to know that my home was now safe, but now I needed to get my furnace repaired before I could have heat in my home. I called the company that had performed a tune-up on the furnace last spring and explained to them what had happened. They were very eager to send out a salesman rather than someone to fix the furnace. After sitting through the sales pitch and throwing them out, I decided to get a second opinion. After reading great reviews of Gillece on Google and City Search, I decided to give them a try. John H. from Gillece was so sincere and honest and truly wanted to solve my problem for me for the least amount of out of pocket for me. His honest diagnosis of the problem which turned out to be correct saved me thousands of dollars that the other company almost had me convinced that I needed to spend. Thank you to Gillece and John H for being honest and not trying to take advantage of a scared single mother. When I do finally need to replace my furnace, I will choose Gillece for the work and request John for any work that I need in the future. more

This winter has been very trying, but thanks to Gillece, we are safe and warm. Our power went out last Friday with the big snow. We were without power until Monday, and when the power did come back on, the furnace crapped out!!! After days without heat or electricity it was very disappointing to still have no furnace. Gillece to the rescue!! Called for service at 8 PM requesting service. Techncian John showed up around 10:30 and rescued us. I didn't realize until after he had the heat back on that his truck was parked on the next street behind our house, about a 1/4 of a mile away. I would like to highly recommend this company and the heroic efforts of their employees like John that went above and beyond to help us in our time of need. I am a customer for life!! We have done business with many other heating and air conditioning companies over the years and were never really quite happy until we contacted Gillece plumbing and heating. They are always very prompt, friendly and extremely professional and their techs are absolutley the best in the business. Our favorite tech is Albert, he is very smart and always finds the problem and makes it right the first time. My advice is to forget the rest and call the best! Gillece plumbing and heating.? more

These guys are total scam artists. I called them to service my furnace because we were having trouble with our Trane XL 90. A technician came and said that to repair it would cost $2,000 and they recommended replacing our 13 year old furnace with a new York furnace for $6,000 telling me that I will also get a $1,500 tax credit from the Federal Government. After talking to some family and friends, we decided to get a second opinion. This time I decided to call a Trane specialist. Someone from Woodruff & Smith Heating & Cooling came and fixed it within 5 minutes and charged me $75 for the call. I will never call Gillece for anything and buyer beware if you decide to use them. I called Gillece on a Sunday afternoon. It was my daughter?s 7th B-Day and our whole house was stopped up and the main bathroom was overflowing. I was in a panic with a whole house full of moms and kids. I called at least 10 other companies with no answer or answering services taking messages. One of the moms suggested that I ?Call Gillece? and to my surprise, the office was staffed just like it was a regular weekday. The dispatcher assured me he would have a plumber out within an hour. Steve from Gillece showed up at our door within 30 minutes and gave us what he called ?temporary relief? but what I call savior. Only charged $99 for the service. First thing Monday morning, they came back and hooked us up with a permanent fix for the problem. Will definitely call again if we have problems and recommend highly. Gillece lived up to their same day or free guarantee. We had another contractor remove 5 of our radiators over the summer to do some remodeling with new baseboards, flooring, etc. When it came time for them to reinstall them, they said that they didn't do that kind of work, and that the boiler would need to be bled and that we should call a plumber to reinstall them. We put it off all summer, and when it started to get cold over the last week, we decided to call Gillece to get the radiators reinstalled. The bad news was that they called us two times to reschedule us because they were busy and they said that they had a couple guys out with the flu. The good news is that when they finally came out to do the work, THEY DID IT FOR FREE! Absolutely zero dollars out of my pocket. They were professional in performing the work, and did the work with the same care that I would have expected if I were paying full price for the work. Everything is working great and I will highly recommend Gillece for their outstanding service and great guarantee. Pros: Free work on my boiler and radiators!! Cons: Rescheduled two times more

Great customer service, very funny guys, easy to work with.... They told me the exact problem and showed me what to do and what not to do. *Note to self: Never use Drain-O. I was called at work by my mother telling me that she had a plumber at her home telling her that she needed a new water heater. My mother and father are in their eighties and have been making some very ""questionable"" financial decisions recently. I was very relieved (and quite frankly stunned) that they called me to tell me that they were considering buying a lifetime warranted water heater from Gillece and that the plumber in their home actually suggested that they call me to make sure that they were making a good decision. Needless to say, they did not need a lifetime warranty on anything, but I was very impressed with the fact that the plumber recognized that my Mom and Dad were not at their best when it came to financial decisions and suggested to them that they include me in the decision. Thankfully I was given the opportunity to review the different options for water heater replacement and make a decision to just choose the lowest warranty option since we are planning to move Mom and Dad in with us. I don't beleive all of the negative reviews that are posted on this review website. They must be being posted by either a jealous competitor or a disgruntled employee, because my experience with this company has been completely the opposite. Gillece was not cheap, but I wouldn't trust anyone else to deal with my vulnerable elderly parents and I will highly recommend them to anyone that asks. I had some plumbing problems that were easily diagnosed and fixed on the first call. Technician looked at all my plumbing and gave me a time table for bringing up my 50 year old home up to speed. Needed more than just an average plumber for a very difficult problem. Had six different plumbers out to my house over the last two years.
