Pawn shops are a wonderful place to go if you're looking for a bargain, and don't care if its new, like a tool you'll use once, an instrument to learn on, a movie you'll watch once, etc. I've known the owner of this particular shop for years, and guess what? They're human too!! more

O.K., I don't usually frequent Pawn shops but lately this one has caught my eye and on a whim I decided to other day to venture inside to see what it might be like. From the first I must warn you that there is very limited parking at the side of the building, but since this store really isn't that far from downtown Iowa City, a walk wouldn't be out of the question. As I glanced around this store I must admit I felt a bit uneasy, I've seen the movies too and I really didn't know what to expect from a pawn shop. There were many different items to view though and I was assured if they didn't have what I wanted today I should stop back tomorrow because items come and go in this shop quite frequently, As I left the store I felt kind of bad for those who had left their stuff because they needed $.......but then again a pretty gold watch caught my eye......maybe I'll go back tomorrow an dsee if it's still there! ;-) more

What can I say? Do not most pawn shops look a bit scary? You really never know what you are going to find. But be sure that you know what the original retail price is of an item before you purchase here. more

This store has an ever-changing inventory. I like to go here and browse. It is a bit cluttered, but you can still get through the items. They have a selection of movies, stereos, and guitars. They even had a western saddle at one point. There is not much parking on the side of the building. This place is not far from down town Iowa City. more
