A Nashville must 4/14/2009

Where do I start. As stated in other reviews as soon as we walked in the door we were asked if it was our first time and given a tour of everything. They have made a few changes for the better in some of the things. They now make their own feta, yogurt, hummus and churn their own butter. I'm southern and well butter is something I grew up with so I know my butter. They have some of the best butter I've ever eaten. The feta is the best I've ever had. I have to agree with everyone else in saying you have to try the fesenjan, a fantastic dish of ground chicken, ground walnuts and pomegranate. We went for the dinner buffet and the value is unbelievable. Where else can you get all you can eat braised lamb shanks. There wasn't a dish I didn't like that I tried. I did skip the salmon dish because I don't like salmon but my wife said it was great. All three of the desserts were fantastic. Genies is definitely going to be one of our regular stops when we to to Nashville. We live about three hours away and I'd seriously consider making that drive just to go to Genies it's so good. Pros: Great service and outstanding food more

Food, Family, Love! The GEM of Brentwood!! 4/1/2008

Coming from the west coast with tasty ethnic restaurants on about every corner....my mind and tastebuds were missing the good ole day's in California....UNTIL TODAY!!! My husband and I found our new favorite spot, Genie's Persian Palace! It is so good that I had to take sometime to write a review on city search. Pros: Food, service, your $ goes a long way! more

Genie's has become our favorite restaurant in the Nashville-Franklin area. 12/24/2007

We are so glad we found Genie's. When you go, go hungry. It has a large selection on the food bar so take just a little of each food so you can try everything. We love the lamb shanks. They can make eggplant taste wonderful. If you're going on a Saturday night, go early, because it fills up quickly. Pros: Food and service. Cons: Small restaurant can get crowded. more

Best Mid Eastern food in Nashville 9/28/2007

My Wife and friends visited Genie's and were thrilled to have dined their. The food is EXCELLENT. The owners are truly wonderful who welcome their guest with a warm Asian hospitality. Service is great. They have some of the best lamp shanks, meats, tabouli and humus to offer. Everything is made fresh and home made including fresh bread and butter. There's not a better place we know of in town that serves mouth watering Mid Eastern dishes than Genie's. I highly recommend to dine there. Keep it up Genie's. more

The best Persian food in the middle Tennessee!! 7/16/2007

We moved to Tennessee a year ago, moving from Southern California where we had access to some really great Persian food ... when we moved there wasn't anything close to our new home that was remotely as good as what we had back in California ... until Genie's opened their doors in November 2006!! Pros: EXCELLENT food, great atmosphere, WONDERFUL service Cons: Small dining area, minimal parking -- simple solution: arrive during less busy times of the day. more

Best Meditranian and persian food in the U.S.A 4/1/2007

I am very hard to please when it comes for choosing a restaurant for my family. I do not want to be embarassed when I take my friends to a restaurant . Everything should be perfect. The only place that I am sure the owner of the restaurant will take good care of me is Genie's. This place is the american idle of restaurants in Nashville. Everything in their buffet is fresh and homemade. They are not cheap in amount of meat that they use for their stews. Their lambshank and grilled kebobs are wonderful. Their yogurt and butter, tabouli, hummus, and everything else is homemade. Who can find homemade butter in a restaurant? In Genie's persian palace you can. You should try this place. Pros: Thums up? Go Genie more

Greatest authentic Persian food I have ever had 3/16/2007

The moment you walk in you feel like you're in a Persian's family kitchen. I grew up having Persian food and I have never had anything more authntic to true home cooking like this. The staff is incredibly friendly and will guide you through their dishes. Their lunch buffet is well worth the $11 and it is a great way to try a little of everything. I can't wait to go back! Tell them Mr. Esel sent you!!! Pros: buffet, great flavors, authentic Cons: space can be tight more

Great little place 12/28/2006

My wife and I have been to Genie's twice now in the past few weeks. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. If you are looking for something completely new and delicious, then this is the place to go. I have always been a fan of indian food and went expecting persian to be very similar. I was completely wrong. Pros: Food, Service more

A Great Experience Awaits 12/9/2006

My husband and I have been to Genie's once a few weeks ago, and will be going back next week. This restaurant has what I consider a wonderful characteristic: It's like being invited into a friends's home to eat their mother's fabulous food. It is a treat, a treasure, and an honor. more

Family owned and operated by the 12/5/2006

At last a place for auethentic Persian food near the Cool Springs area. The Fat Mo family ran restaurant serves up some traditional Persian dishes that do not disappoint. If you have never tried Persian food you're missing out, and if you want to then this is the place to go. Genie herself will help explain what is in each dish if you make it for the buffet between 11:00-3:00. The buffet has a large variety to chose from such as, lamb shanks, eggplant, chicken kebab(awesome), okra, gyro, safron rice, veggies, soups, stews and homemade yogurt sauces. One must try item is the sweet and sour pomegranate paste. Put it over some rice and you wont be able to stop eating it. The price is kinda up there at $9.00 a person but the variety makes it well worth it. The regular menu looks a little pricey but my guess is each entree could feed a family of four. For a lower fare you could get a wrap with either beef kabab, chicken, or persian style chicken salad for around $6.00. Awesome chi (persian tea). The only downfall may be the small seating capacity and the ""gotta look for it"" location. Other than that Genies is a great choice when looking for that new food experience. Can't wait to try everything else. Pros: selection, originality, authentic, the only persian restaraunt around, very friendly, Mom and Pop style charm, better than the greek ""fast food"" cafes Cons: low seating capacity, gotta look for it location more
