Who would ever thing that scrawny little hot dogs tossed into a steamed bun and smothered with coney sauce and chopped onions could be a delecacy...But it is! These things have been floating around Anderson's East Side for 50 years or more, and they still deliver the goods! Being able to woof down 5 or 6 at $1.40 a pop makes it a little pricy, but it is an eating experience to behold! It's a drive-in with car hops. Nothing fancy. I guess it's changed hands once or twice since I was a kid. Used to be called Olsen's. The the dog remains! Along with frosted mugs of root beer and other varieties of the American treat. I find that if you take a bite, then just a small sip of root beer, then chew and swish it all around, no drug can give a greater high!! GENE'S FOREVER!
Pros: Spanish Hot Dogs, Root Beer, Ice Cream Cones
Cons: A little pricy, Open summer only
