This Barber shop is IT! Not only did I get a perfect haircut once, but every time I go in I leave happy. All the barbers are great. Friendly, and accommodating. I have been with Gene's Barber Stylist for 20 years. Gene Tobey is an amazing teacher and an incredible businessman and remains a good friend to all of us at the shop. Customer Service has been and will continue to be our main objective. In a world lacking in customer service skills we want people to feel confident that they will get our best. After alot of failed attempts at getting a decent haircut in ithaca, I finally found Genes Barber shop. Unfotunately for me I am moving to Boston next year. I just found this barber shop a year ago. I have lived all over the country and have paid for bad haircuts my whole life. NOT ANYMORE! GENES BARBER STYLIST IS THE BEST! ALL the barbers are great. they are friendly, they listen to what you want. the place is clean, clean, clean! I have not met the owner yet, but when i do i am going to thank him. the reviewer that gave genes 3 stars must be the competition. My whole family for generations and my friends familys for generations have gone to Genes Barber Stylist for their haircuts and no one has ever gotten anything but an excellent haircut. Experienced excellent customer service. The new owner Mena Nepa has continued demanding nothing but the best from her barbers as did Gene in his reign. I am a 40-year old male who needs just simple clipper and scissors cut, but am usually disappointed with what I get whenever I go anywhere but Gene's. They are all good, but I ask for Kathy...she takes her time and always gives me a super cut. more

My sons and daughter started bringing the grandchildren here for haircuts. The barbers are so good with kids. My sons began going to genes and now my husband and I do. It is truly a family place to be. I see students , professionals and retired folks like us. We look forward to getting our haircut. Friendly barbers, clean and neat shop, excellent haircut and price. Top quality! I will reccomend this shop to everyone I know. This is not your typical barber shop yet it is old fashioned and everyone is welcome. These people that work there are all nice and great haircutters. Pros: the parking and location are good and the haircuts are consistant. Cons: none that i have found, maybe you have to wait 10 minutes or so but its worth it more

I love this barber shop! The barbers are friendly, and welcoming. The haircuts are the best I have ever had. Believe me, I have been around, these are the best haircuts. The price is reasonable and the quality is high. They really make you feel comfortable, they want to please you. The shop is classy, a mix of old fashioned and modern. Its very very clean and sanitary. they are also fast but can do any haircut or style you want. All three barbers seem to be very expierienced. I highly reccomend this shop!
