When you walk into the store, you are entering the Nordstrom of Supermarkets! Yes, the prices are slightly higher, but it is well worth it. Better environment, friendly cashiers, and better products! You don't need to worry about only one checkstand open, they always call another cashier. You don't have to worry about the shelves being a mess, they keep them nice and neat. Very organized! I'm happy they are are in my neighborhood and will continue to shop there instead of the other markets, they are not SUPER! more

Great Produce Here 8/7/2005

Gelsons is a standout in many of the things it offers. It seperates itself from your standard markets with the fresh produce and meats it offers. The prices are very high though, and for non gourmet items, Id suggest another grocery store. more

not your average grocery store 7/16/2005

sure, they have your usual meat, dairy and produce and just about anything else you'll find at any grocery store. But, they also have a wide selection of gourmet and hard to find items. From a hard to find bottle of wine to that special, unique ingredient for a new recipe you want to try. They also have an awesome deli with far more than fried chicken and potato salad. They have gourmet salads and main dishes. They also have a gourmet olive bar where you can purchase as few or as many olives for a relish tray, recipe or whatever. Their prices are a little high, but for that special grocery item...it's well worth it! more
