Freedom Woods

This barn is a great choice if you have a young child that 'wants to ride the pretty pony', but if you have a horse or are serious about riding, forget about this stable. It's conveniently located, but that comes with a price. The horses are turned out in muddy paddocks with no grass and are usually forgotten outside. The stalls are dreadful, the whole barn was dirty and messy and many of the grooms seemed unconcerned about the welfare of the horses. As for my 14 year old daughter who was getting serious about riding, lessons for advanced kids were not satisfactory. Her instructors were frequently changed and seemed to come and go. The students were absolutely not informed of the instructor change, and many times the teachers did not have the knowledge to teach kids who are serious about riding how to frame a horse or jump oxers. Many of the trainers put beginners who don't know how to control a horse on animals for advanced riders which was neither good for horse and rider. As for those of you who pay in bulk payments for lessons, watch out. If you leave the barn before your payment is up, you do not get your money back. It happened to us. Freedom Woods is a much better place to ride at then Glen Grove. I recently switched to Freedom Woods because the trainors at Glen Grove were rude, disrespectful, and obnoxious. When my Mom and I took a ride over to Freedom Woods just to check it out, we liked it right away. One of the workers at the front desk gave us a tour and told us about how most of it was re-modeled and that there planning on doing more and my Mom and I liked it more there because we talked to one of the trainors and we could just feel the positive energy and the riders/trainors have a will to ride and there not all about the money like how Glen Grove is. So i HIGHLY recamend this stable! more

The place looks great but the buildings are separated. What i meen by that is say its freezing cold and you have to take your lesson this is what you will have to do. First you will have to check in then tack up your horse in the other building you get wet outside then what will you do. so it might be good in the summer but not iin the witer. more

Our horse was boarded at this barn for over 2 years --I do not recommend this barn to anyone. more
