In ShortSettled in 1846, this community has transformed itself from a quaint German farming community into a center for historic festivals, museums and unique shopping. Fredericksburg makes an excellent home base for seeing several Hill Country sights. Enchanted Rock, a giant granite outcropping, is a tremendous attraction. Also nearby is the Lady Bird Johnson Park, the Butterfly Ranch, the Bat Tunnel and four Texas vineyards with special events year-round.
