Customer Service is Terrible 1/8/2011

They completely screwed up my delivery order, and when I called them about it, they argued with me. They promised me a refund, which never posted. I will never again patronize this restaurant, and I recommend that you avoid it at all costs. more

Quick, Fast and Not Quite Gourmet 10/10/2010

Fortune is the perfect place to go for a quick bite. The food is good and the service is rocket fast. If you need to get in an out fast and want something more than that last lean cuisine in your office freezer, Fortune is an excellent choice... It just isn't a place to take that special person on your first date! more

Disappointed 7/14/2010

I happened to see Fortune today while running some errands. I thought I'd try them as I'd been ""jonesing"" for Chinese food. I should have gone to Fushings! The food was so so. I didn't get one of the items that I ordered and when I questioned the bill it was like I'd run over Jenny's cat! Love Fortune Chinese Restaurant 3/9/2009

I absolutely love Fortune's Chinese Restaurant. It is the best in at least the next 30 mile radius. I almost gave up on finding a good Chinese restaurant until one of my Chinese patients told me about Fortune. The food is delicious and the staff is super nice. :) Pros: good, food, good prices, great ambiance. Cons: parking is sometimes hard to find. more

I have no idea where to begin here. I have never really been prompted to write a review like this before, but this experience was so pitiful that I felt like I truly needed to say something. We waited to even be acknowledged for almost 45 minutes. No, they weren't busy. There was one harried waiter, and one bus boy who spoke no English. This was on a slow Sunday evening; early. Finally, we were able to get the waiters' attention. We asked for Chinese beer. He said "" Only Budweiser or Heineken"". more

The WORST Chinese experience ever!!! The owner is argumentative and disrespectful. The staff doesn't know the menu. The take out takes 45 minutes. They don't prepare the food as asked. When I arrived I asked for another item on my phone order and asked to cancel another item. They said that they could not cancel even though they had not even started to prepare it. They billed me for my cancelled order and for my added item that had only been added at my arrival (when I had also asked for the cancellation). I had asked for mild prep. All my food had red peppers, too spicy. Pros: the WORST Cons: they rip you off more

Great Chinese For a Bargain 6/27/2002

For those of you that work or shop in Old Town, you know that things can get a little pricey. At the Fortune Chinese Cuisine, you can get a great meal at a price that you cannot beat. With their entree's, you get a main dish, soup, egg rolls, and tea that will not break your wallet. If you enjoy chinese and are in the Old Town area, this is one place you should try. Because Fortune will bring non-greasy spring rolls and delectable shrimp and green beans to my door--with a smile, even--rates them high in my book. And the absence of MSG and heavy oils is definitely noticeble. Sure, it's a little basic, but basic is good enough for door-to-door Chinese--especially with the horrors of parking in Old Town. Fortune is just alright--very little to say about the place except that it's Old Town location makes it convenient after shopping or a movie. Even the signature dishes (Cha-cha Chicken, for one), while edible, don't register as having any particular flavor from one to the other. more

Best Delivery Option in Pasadena 5/20/2002

Never disappointed with Fortune. The food is always excellent and service fantastic. Try the Orange flavored chicken, steamed dumplings and the house special fried rice. If you order more than two entrees ask for extra rice since they usually only gve you one small container. They get busy some nights so delivery can take a while but it's always worth the wait. every dish i've ordered from fortune has been excellent. with fresh vegetables and lean meats, they deliver tasty food that's low in fat and low in cholesterol. star items on the menu include anything with chicken or anything with shrimp. i've had just about all of them and they've never disappointed. some items on the menu are marked spicey, but they're not really spicey at all. if you want something really spicey, ask them to stop messing around and give it to you good. perfect year round, but i'm a fan of ordering a couple of dishes plus hot and sour soup on a cold, rainy day.
