Excellent environment 4/8/2006

The Fort Mason Center offers a number of activities. The weather, and the pier is second to none. Nothing like strolling along the pier, with fresh ions and great views in the offerings. Highly recommended for anyone who just wants to get away from things, and recharge yourself. more

great place to relax on an afternoon 9/4/2005

I have spent many a weekend afternoon relaxing at fort mason - its a great place to take a book and a blanket and just enjoy being outdoors. Watch out though, if its a nice day, it will get crowded with friends throwing balls or frisbees, sometimes kites, and definitely a dog or too. Its a fun community area with a great view. Its placed just on top of a hill, so you have a panoramic view of the bay and golden gate bridge. A great place for a picnic, although the hilly location can also get windy, so bring a jacket! more

Wonderful 7/27/2005

Fort Mason Center is a World War II embarkation point that has been transformed into a regional cultural center. Former warehouses are now galleries, workshops, classrooms, studios, and even a well-known vegetarian restaurant. Four theatres, museums, a second-hand bookstore, numerous craft studios, and about fifty resident non-profit organizations are also here. A variety of events are presented weekly. Daily 8 a.m.-midnight. Free; charges for some events and galleries. more
