We had $30,000 worth of work done - wood & tile floors & tile showers. I showed the owner upon his last visit ( he wanted the last of his $) the problems that needed to be addressed. He assured me that these would be taken care of. We did not hear from him for over a month & then he kept telling us someone would be out. This went on for months. Then he stopped talking my calls & would not respond to emails..I finally got him on the phone by calling from a phone that did NOT show it was me calling early last year. Once again, I told him what was wrong, he agreed they were signifigant & reasonable complaints about poor workmanship & told me he would contact me to let me know when a crew would be out. I haven't heard from him since. Now, less than 2 years later, it makes me physically ILL to see grout cracking & falling out in both NEW bathrooms& every floor that they installed. 1 shower stall (new construction) has grout that has been changing color since before the room was even finished & has gotten worse over time, probably because the grout was not properly mixed. This issue was immediately brought up at the beginning of the job- but no one could explain WHY this was occurring or tried to fix the problem. We had ceiling drywall damage from water below new shower #2 because of grout that had fallen out- obviously because it was not put in properly. My hard wood floors have wood fill coming out in every room, leaving big gaps all over that expose underlayment- this will certainly damage the flooring everytime it's washed! I have sent many emails to mike last year w/ attacted photos asking for help. He refused my calls & did not respond to my emails. Mike & I had excellent comunication during the job, or so I thought. During this time, there was never a harsh word between us & I trusted him COMPLETELY. The sub that Mike provided to do the tile work was paid by Mike & left Mike's employment at the very end of our job. I believe that this is why he refuses to do the repairs because he would have to pay a new crew to do the repairs. This however is not MY fault nor should it become my financial burden! The above issues have now become big problems that NEED to be addressed before MOre damage is done. I am FURIOUS that I was lied to & that Flooring Concepts in Algonquin refuses to stand behind their inferior work. Mistakes happen, workers screw up & things often don't run smoothly all the time during remodling projects- I 'm OK with that ! But when you get to the end of the job & you pay the bill - you DESERVE to have the work done right & corrections made, in a timely fashion & without a lot of drama & fighting! It has also occurred to me that the fact that I live over an hour from this business makes it even more convient for MIke to IGNORE our problems.
