Best place to go 6/4/2008

This place is great. The fact that you can watch live bands outside. Not have to worry about a room filled with smoke. I always go when Kevin F****ing Folwer is coming. He is coming this weekend. You can bet I will be there. I also like you can sit on pinic tables. Have not tried there food but always crowded inside with the food. Pros: you can bring your little ones Cons: no cons more

Great times! Better than before! 2/26/2007

I have been coming here since high school. It has definately been improved since then, but the good times are still in play. Great food, friendly atmosphere, incredible music. The web site is really helpful; you can buy tickets, peruse the menu, and see upcoming show lists. There are posters everywhere outside and inside about shows too. Its a south texas gem for all ages. The drinks are normal bar prices. The seating inside is tables and chairs, and outside is picnic tables but they have all been redone and there is even a patio area in the back. This is a really great place to listen to Texas music in a fun environment. Pros: Nice outdoor space, Historical Site, Fun and Truely Texas Cons: All shows are all ages (not a con for everyone) more

Not what it was cracked up to be 10/20/2002

We went out to see Jack Ingram. After paying $15 each at the door, we were charged way too much for Shiner in the can. We went outside to the weed-infested patio, and sat down at a picnic table, which was broken. We then moved, and sat down at another, which was also broken. There were only about 70 people there, and the band playing was definately not Jack Ingram. So, we spent $20 for somebody other than who we wanted to see, and got to experience broken tables and weeds. Definately did not live up to its reputation.     The old sign in front notwithstanding, Floores Country Store no longer sells real estate. But they'll still hook you up with a plate of barbecue and a cold Shiner while you tap your foot to live country music. Heed the signs and don't bring in your own food or drink; you'll get busted every time.

    Live in Texas
    The outdoor ampitheater is where the action is, and it's played host to Lyle Lovett, John Prine, and other simpatico roots-rock pickers. Robert Earl Keen recorded the bulk of his second live album here--the crowds are rowdy, appreciative, and very loud.

    Patience Is a Virtue
    Be prepared to wait for beer, sodas, and water--this venue is undeniably understaffed, and you could be standing in line for an hour to get your hands on a cold bottle of Ozarka.
