Fisherman's Catch Restaurant

My family had a number of meals here over the years. Family atmosphere and good food. But the night the new owner was rude and arrogant to us when we politely expressed disappointment with the service was our last visit. The former owners were congenial and respectful to their customers. We will never go back. more

My family and I went to Fisherman's Catch I believe the same night as the previous commenter (July 5, 2008). The wait was extremely long and frustrating at times. But let me tell you the wait was worth it! The food was delicious and very affordable and the portions were so generous for the price! The service could not have been better either. Anyone could tell the waitresses were working extremely hard, quickly, and efficiently to please their customers and still managed to do it with a smile on their faces even though you could tell they were tired and stressed! I was very impressed. My family will positively come back to this restaurant if we ever visit Wells Maine again for the great food, kid friendly atmosphere, and efficient service. Just got home from one of the worst Maine seafood restaurants (tourist trap, big ripoff) in Maine and felt compelled to write this review. Bottom line for those looking to enjoy a nice evening with good food, good service - this is not the place. The service was terrible from the beginning when our waitress basically threw a lemon wedge at my father in -law because she was put out because she forget to bring it in his drink when first ordered it. We ordered what was advertised as ""Almost 2 lbs"" of Steamers but what we recevied looked like 1 lb, maybe a litle more at best. We told the waitress the order did not appear to be anywhere near the 2 lbs of steamers we were expecting. All we received was a lot of back talk and excuses - NO CONCERN FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMER whatsover. Because we had questioned the size of fhe order, we were treated as if we were criminals and 2nd class citizens - even after we spoke with the owner. In fact, the owner was so arrogant, she recommended we go to one of there competitors! All we were looking for was some kind of acknowledgement and display for concern, but all we received was total grief. We wil not be patronizing this establishment in the future. There are far better places to spend your hard earned money. Also, I plan on not recommending this to the hundreds of people I interact with on a daily basis in Kennebunk, as I am a summer resident have zero tolerance for being taking advantage of. The Fisherman's Catch has a really friendly staff and excellent food! We were looking for a seafood restaurant in Wells that would have fresh food and lobster at LOW prices. And we FOUND it! Casual atmosphere is perfect after any Summertime activity, it's the total Maine experience, perfect for tourists to get to know Maine Staff is organized, friendly, and service is second-to-none, especially for such a busy place Great beer and wine selections, food is unbelieveable!! Quaint, casual and rustic... just how Maine dining should be. Kids loved grabbing the lobster held paper towels hanging over each table. the fish was fresh, as one would assume being just a minute down the road from Wells Harbor.
