Finnegan's Too

This bar is notorious for disgusting bathrooms, bad food, roaches, and bad service, and it's been that way for years. I've forgiven them for all that because the place is so close to where I live, but when you claim to be an Irish bar, you can't hire a DJ who spends the entire night of St. Patrick's on the microphone complaining that people asked him to play Dropkick Murphy's and going on and on about how he thinks Irish music sucks. I forgave Finnegan's for everything else, but allowing that sacrilege on St. Patrick's makes them the fakest excuse for a pub I've ever seen. If you really want a fun time, hit the Playwright or Waxy O'Connor's - they're across the street from each other on Washington and 13th. They're not exactly the real deal either, but at least there's no roaches and they know how to party. Pros: location Cons: everything else more

rats and roaches. whenever this building loses power guess what? they won't throw away the food even if it's spoil. This business will serve it. You walk into this bar and they will burn incense to cover the smell of dead rats that are dead in the wall. more

I have been going to this bar 2-3 times a week for the past year because of the location and that it has a happy hour but I can no longer take it. I am sick of the horrible service. There have been numerous times when I have waited over 30 minutes for a drink on a slow day. The only time they are in a hurry is when their shift is over and they want you to close the tab. The bill will come with the suggested tip amount on it, but the waitress will take a pen and cross out the 10 percent amount.\r You might get good service sitting at the bar and there are 2 good waitresses but if you don't get one of them good luck getting drinks. While visiting SOBE on business, a coworker and I decided to go shopping while our husbands hung out here, as this was they were drawn by the Pittsburgh Steelers football game being broadcast inside (great selling point of this place- they play more than one game, despite that the Dolphins were also playing that day). It was a great place for them to hang out, with reasonable prices. The one turn-off that ruined MY take on this place is that when hubby paid for his bucket of beers, the waitress refused to take his money because there was no tip added to his cash. I find it offensive when waitstaff ASKS for a tip, and it is common ettiquette for patrons to tip after the SERVICE has been COMPLETED. They had not planned for that to be their LAST bucket of beers. Therefore, they had planned to tip her at the end of their stay. We are usually generous tippers (myself having waited tables through college) but left a standard and sub-par 15% for this woman. A little honey goes further than a little vinegar, sweetheart. Not all of your patrons are poor college students. Some of us actually HAVE the upbringing to follow proper bar ettiquette. This should not be in the Irish pub section, because it is not an Irish pub! This bar should be in the hole in the wall catagory. Even as a hole in the wall it is the worst in Miami. Do yourself a favor and don't wast your time going there. Pros: The beer is wet Cons: Not an Irish bar more

I was at Finnegans 2 on Lincoln Road last weekend for the first time ever and I can guarantee I will be back! Great to see a hangout on Sobe (for once) that plays killer music all night long. The bartenders are the best! Lots of the ""cool local crowd"" mingling with those visiting Sobe. The bar seemed to pick up from 11 pm on and rocked til the late morning hours! Great time, highly recommend this place. Only prob is that if you plan on going somewhere afterwards, be prepared to cancel those plans! This place is great! Terriffic bar staff...great drinks! What a find, on the Beach! Good live music, too!!! We've seen a couple of great bands there. One even has a chick- singer! And a great place to play pool! I LOVE IT! more
