The staff at BAVS were compassionate, sincere and friendly. I really felt they cared about my dog LuLu. Unfortunately, this has NOT been my experience at Alameda Pet Hospital, where we usually go (because it's very close to our home). Dr. Rohn was great, I felt very confident in his expertise and I felt his "bedside manner" was again, friendly, compassionate and SINCERE. Believe me, especially when you have had a bad time with socially awkward veterinarians elsewhere, this goes a long way in making a traumatic, scary experience all the more comfortable. BAVS has always been there in the case of emergency. I have done pitbull rescue for 7 years now, and they are there to receive the dogs when they are in the worst shape of their lives. I had to bring my female in there with severe dog fight wounds, and they did their best to work with my limited budget, and get her back on her feet. She's as good as new. Most recently, however, was with my mom's dog. Riley got hit by a car after he (easily) scaled the 6 foot fence in the yard. Agility training came in not so handy... Riley had a tough time, fighting sepsis, massive wounds, multiple procedures, including 2 moderate surgeries. However, he is happy, healthy, and as normal as he ever will be. Thank you to Dr. Filipowicz for being Riley's doctor. Dr. F is caring, has a fantastic bed-side manner, and gave us at least a phone call a day to update us on Riley's condition, and talking to us about procedures that might need to be done. I highly recommend this place more
