I have been a resident at Brighton Pk Apts in Claremont for 25 years. I put my name on a waiting list for an apt before they were built & waited 5 yrs to get 1. I raised my family here, this is my home. I am now disabled & a sr citizen. Last month when I pd the rent I was served with a eviction notice to vacate the premises by Nov 30 or else legal action will be taken. This shows how heartless & greedy FDC is. I have been a good tenant, put up with every management change (there have been alot), followed every rule they made (like not letting children play outside or only letting children in the pool during certain hrs, etc). I have passed every inspection-2x a year for 25 years-so it's obvious I take good care of the apt. Now their putting me out on the street during the holidays-Thanksgiving & Christmas. With no thought whatsoever-they just decided after 25 yrs they no longer want to accept the LA Co Housing Auth rent vouchers. They are also displacing several other tenants-who all have children-with total disregard-as the children will be misplaced, have to change schools, leave friends, etc. All for the mighty $$$. If there was anyway to start a boycott-I'd be right in the front row! My advice to future (& current) renters-stay away from any property managed by FDC-especially Brighton Pk. There are alot nicer apts in Claremont for the same & less rent . Since my eviction, I could make a list. Thanks for letting me warn apt hunters in Claremont-especially college students. You can do better. more

Only giving them a star because we have to but this has been the worst first experience as a married couple with a baby we thought our first time would be special for us but it has been the worst. I am about to loose my job my hours have been cut already so we will not be able to afford it we tried to downsize from a 2bd to a 1bd but they are telling us that at this point it isnt possible. They are charging us 3700 to cancel our contract charging us the discounts given to us and 3months worth of rent plus our deposit of 1300 so in reality is 5000 if you really think about it. Now we are stuck either we struggle mo to mo or we go broke and move out with no money. We were late literally 4 days and we got a notice on our door say pay or quit and we will get legal attorney involved. We had never been late since we got there. we felt like criminals when we got that notice. The manager is cold hearted she tells us things like she was talking to thieves and then tries to sound nice after she tells us things very hypocritical. We wondered at the beginning why it was so nice and quiet now we know why everyone moves out ASAP! By far the worst place don't lease from them or go to El Sereno apartments in pomona more

I've been a resident of FDC Management since 1988 Villa Camino Apts (Oceanside)....recently I've had financial hardship due to ecomonic changes and serious health issues. When the rent was due (it was less than 3 weeks late)....Villa Camino decided to file attorney papers, fees etc, and threatened to sue us and evict us without discussing our options. Instead of evicting us they gave us a stipulation agreement to pay them more money which include attorney retainer fees and court filing fees which added to over $1000.00 extra to what was already due beside my rent. They threated us on an eviction notice which never ocurred before during my 20 years of residence here. They could have easily just added more late fees instead of taking it to the greedy attorneys and charging us this prosposterous amount of money. This is LEGAL STEALING! Where is the humanity? Where is the compassion??..There is none... ! Where in the world are we going when we put money before people. This is an outrage. We should not tolerate this business practice anymore and would like anyone to join us in this fight and if anyone has any ideas on how to make changes such as petitions, congress law, senator letters etc. Your response & reply is greatly appreciated. I have to laugh that the one positive review of this worthless company is by an employee. Bet you don't live in an apartment managed by FDC Management. Everything is fixed on the cheap. Rats rule their properties. Their hiring practices are blatantly illegal. They employ the worst of the worst as office managers. I live in the Los Arbolitos property in Huntington Beach and we, the tenants, are in the process of circulating a petition to remove the psychotic management staff. If there is a change of management, the other minuses of this and all apartment complexes managed by FDC Management could be overlooked. But for the money they are attempting to squeeze out of the tenants (and they do nickel and dime you to DEATH), we deserve better, more PROFESSIONAL office staff. I have talked to FDC Management about this and, while almost always being totally unresponsive to tenant concerns, have finally agreed that with a majority of tenants signing this petition, we will be able to remove the current office staff before the entire apartment complex is vacant. It is time to pay attention to your customers, FDC Management. In these hard economic times, there are many, many, MANY better apartments by the beach than Los Arbolitos for the money being asked and for the obnoxious front office staff. Do not rent at any property managed by the unprofessional cheapskates, FDC Management. You will soon regret it. And leases last for a year, so you are SOL for a whole year, unfortunately. However, I have known tenants who have paid the penalty to break their lease at Los Arbolitos because they were so angry about the ridiculous management practices foisted upon the tenants that they could not stand it anymore. They also will do anything possible to avoid refunding your deposit. Many of their rental practices are blatantly illegal. I have talked to a lawyer about a class-action suit and if management of Los Arbolitos is not changed soon, will proceed from there. Pros: Nothing that I can think of. Cons: Everything. I have worked for FDC Management for past 4 years and to say they are the best company to work for is an understatement. They are family oriented, customer oriented and extremely professional. They go out of their way to help residents not only feel welcome, but go above and beyond to retain their residents. They help train employees to be more customer oriented and keep them informed with new laws that have changed or new information coming out. I am extremely happy working for this company and only wish I had found them sooner. Pros: Best company to work for! Cons: None more

We live in a FDC Management Apartment complex in Fresno, WE HATE IT!! The only good thing is that the rent is cheap, the Managers are pretty nice most of the time, but can be extremely rude, the maintenance guys are lazy and never show up to fix anything. They just write it down that they did, but never actually come. We see them hanging out smoking all day. We wish we could move, and can not wait until the day when we can. We would highly recommend not even consider moving here, don't even consider it to be a possibility. You will regret it and be stuck like us. This company is unethical. They lie to residents, make promises that they don't keep. The property managers are unprofessional and not up to the job. Good luck with this company. This company is full of employees in the management positions that are not suited to hold the title that they have. The management lies to employees and to resdients of the properties that they manage. One manager in particular does unlawful things on the property and and in front of employees and residents.
