Fays Marina BoatShop.com observes the Annapolis tradition of Celebrating Spring Equinox by burning of the Socks. In Annapolis, Maryland in the United States, boatyard employees and sailboat owners celebrate the spring equinox with the Burning Of The Socks festival. Traditionally, the boating community wears socks only during the winter. These are burned at the approach of warmer weather, which brings more customers and work to the area. Officially, nobody then wears socks until the next equinox. Come enjoy the bon-fire, Burning Cotton Socks (we'll provide if you forget!) and celebrate with Champagne, Wine, soda, H'oderves, petit canape, snacks with us - all to start the Spring Boating Season in tradition and style! more

Sock Burning party was awesome never been to Fay's before and I am glad I came. I enjoyed how friendly everyone is at Fay's along with the excellent display of Boats. I've been shopping at Erwins in Valpo. and they did not have nearly as many or as nice of a display. I did not buy a boat at the open house but I plan to come back to Fay's. I loved the shrimp and wine. Thanks for a great evening and giving us a taste of LaPorte. more

A few weeks ago our family experienced engine problems on our 2007 Pontoon with a Mercury 4 stroke engine. We had to tow our boat to Fays Marina in La Porte, Indiana to have it looked at. We found there was a major failure with the engine. Wade Barnes of Fays called Mercury to find out what could be done since our motor was two months out of warranty. Wade was able to get the parts covered, but not the labor, which was going to cost us $1000. My husband called Mercury Marine and spoke with a gentleman to see if he could get the labor covered too. But he told him there was nothing he could do. I then called Mercury Consumer Affairs the next day and spoke with a wonderful supervisor named Lynn McCoy. I explained our situation to her and she told me she would review the file again. To our delight, she said it would be covered. I wanted to personally tell everyone how much we appreciated the efforts of Wade Barnes at Fay's Marina and Lynn McCoy of Mercury Marine. more

Big thanks to Randy and that older guy at Fays Marina. Really want to thank you for helping me with my Sea King outboard because I was frustrated not finding what I needed after stopping at two other dealerships. You guys know your stuff. The older guy recognized my motor as a Chrysler renamed by Montgomery Wards, and Randy ordered what I needed for this thirty five year old outboard, and even recommended I replace the old water pump impeller - sorry I doubted you, you were right, it was all curled up from aging, so you saved me more down time. Thanks guys, and sorry for "that older guy" comment, don't hold it against me guys please! more

You walk me through past and future services, suggest what I need, even give me a copy of my workorder with the quote on it. Our family has had eight wonderful seasons of troublefree boating with you and we credit your helping us keep it water-ready! (A fellow installer bought a boat from a competitor and has suffered through chronic stalling, then had a overheat failure during the Holiday. Now his drive is making a whining noise. I have none of those problems with my older boat) I appreciate your keeping our boat up to date each fall. (Wow, appreciated learning about E10 fuel so I can knowingly prevent water issues in the fuel) I recommend you everywhere I go, looking for a ninth great season - Mike H. more
