I went Christmas shopping with my children last night to the Family Dollar on Rolling Road. This experience was anything shy of 'in the holiday spirit'. When I first walked into the store I noticed that none of the employees were wearing uniforms and that one employee wore a black polo shirt but it was not clear what his name was. These were legitimate thoughts considering I wanted to ask a question of an associate but could not be certain who the associates were. This was consistent with the fact that this location was dirty and junky on the inside, so much so that I could barely maneuver my daughters stroller around the isles. I was able to struggle and find a few Christmas gifts for my children, despite the fact that toys were falling down and impeding my moving as we walked by the manmade kiosk of toys. Even still, I tried to enjoy my first Christmas shopping evening but could hardly think due to the fact that Little Wayne was blasting on one of the store radios which was distracting my 9 year old from assisting me with my little baby. \r

Well time went by and I was ready to leave and pay for my items which totaled to about 100 and something dollars for about 10 items. (Family Dollars prices are more and more expensive every year) When I approached the front of the store I heard about 3 voices telling me...""Miss we are closed"". This shocked me because I could have swarn these people were customers. They had no identifying uniforms and they had not greeted me the whole time I was in the store. I said, ""Ok"" The manager then told me, "" You need to bring that stuff up here now"". He was so rude and insulting. I asked him was he talking to me in that fashion and he said, ""I am talking to you, you need to get that stuff up here now, we are closed"". It was 7:59pm and the store closes at 8pm. The so called manager went on to tell me I made 3 announcements. I thought to myself if Little Wayne was not blasting I might have heard THAT!! I got Regionals information.
