I have been at this resturant mulitple times and have been completely satisfied. But this last time was different first of all it was sunny out and the girl said we couldnt have an umbrella due to the wind,but another table had one. Then we requested to sit on the lower level outside and she said no they werent serving down there. She did not try to accomodate us at all no! no ! No! thats all we heard. Ok so we decided to make the most of it, they server obvisouly didnt want to be there she was very unpleasant... making our visit not great or even good. I was very displeased and may not return for awhile.... more

I miss the Grand Bayou 3/13/2012

IT'S A SHAME I miss the Grand Bayou and especially Debbie(previous owner) She was so welcoming to my family and friends. My grand kids demanded to go to the Grand bayou just to see her. We miss the Xmas, halloween and the Easter Bunny. It was a great place to feel at home. The Fairmont food quality has gone down and prices have gone up.The service is so so and the fish fry is NOT the same. We just miss that family atmosphere more

Great Food 11/12/2011

I have been there countless times and have had very good service 99% of the time. It sounds like the last people to review this place should give it one more try because the service is generally very good for me. The food is outstanding for bar food. If you order the cajun pork chop when they have it I promise you will not be disappointed. Secondly, the wings are the best I have had in this area so if you are feeling wings make this a must stop. I personally love the cajun catfish and have been very pleased with the fish fry. Those are my recommendations on the food at Fairmont Shores so if you go there try one of these, especially the pork chops. more

Dissapointment 11/11/2011

Lets just start that when this was Grand Bayou the staff was excellent and we never had any issues. We went last week for the friday night fish fry and I have never had such a bad exerience. We were seated by the owner and the wait staff never even acknowleged us. 3 customers who got there after us got waited on. We were there over 10 minutes and still no one came to our table. So we got up and left and gave our business to someone who wants it. I will never go back again especially if this is how you treat all your customers. more

Fairmont Shores bad food lousy owner 8/29/2011

This place is a waste of time, I've visited them sevral time only to be dissapointed. The fish fry is tastless, and when I complained to the waitress, she had the owner come over and he went on a rampage of how dare I say his fishfry was not good and he grabbed my arm and tryed to pull me out of my seat. Needless to say an owner that has been drinking should not try and take his bad business into his own hands. more

AWESOME ! 5/28/2009

Farimont Shores is now GRAND BAYOU! They still have some of the best Ribs and Wings in the city with one advantage, a beautiful view of Fox Lake. Great selection of Beers, Great Burgers. Just a great place to and relax, watch a game or take the family for some great grub. Staff is usually very helpful and friendly. Pros: Best Ribs & Wings Cons: Bathrooms need a bit of work more

Another Great find in Lake Villa if you enjoy a Friday Fish Fry this is the place great view of the lake Its just good Pros: Great Food Cons: Bit Iffy on parking but spots do open up more
