Management Of Fairmont Pet Hospital!!!! 4/4/2012

I was let go from Fairmont Pet Hospital based on a lie i have tried really hard to get another job but someone there is giving me a bad review its been 3 months, and i have proof and ex employees to verify everything Ones who quit because of management never did anything about there harressment. I put up with a employee whom yelled and harressed me for 6 months prior to them letting me go and nothing was ever done about this, I told management 3 times i guess it was funny to them and hes still there and i hear from clients who do not want him in the room. Im writing this because theres nothing you can do about harresment on the job with less than 14 employees. I worked very hard for these people first one there and almost always last to leave, I went way beyound a employee , This cannot go on. Ive heard the doctor there now is giving me a bad review thats what i hear this is wrong she did t know me. I am just at my witts end....Why must there be such people in this world. And we wonder why the world is the way it is. I ve worked for lots of other Drs over the years never anything like this...The Management should be ashamed .... more

In Memory of Dr. Jim Richards 10/27/2010

I have used Dr. Richards for over 25 years. He has treated my great danes, a feral cat from our deer lease I brought home at a week old who is still kicken after 15 yrs and loyal house pet, nearly all my livestock(goats, cows ect.) My grandmothers pysco rottweiller, as long as I was there and he was muzzled. Right before Hurricane Ike, He stitched up my pygmy billie goat that was attacked by stray dogs that had gotten in our yard then 4 months later he diagnosed his broken front leg with out an exra charge 60 bucks for office visit and meds and he ( the goat )was back harrassing dogs 3 weeks later. All this despite his gruff "you know I don't work on livestock no more....( as he turns around and walks towards an exam room as he says come on girl get him in here.) I was deeply saddened by his death a few weeks ago. Dr. Richards was a incredibly smart man. Yes he told it like it was. Would you have rather him lie to you, do something that wasn't going to help and charge you a more

Saved my Cat 3/31/2010

A few years ago I took my cat, who had a urinary blockage, to Dr. Richards. He got right to work, and set my cat up with everything he needed to recover. I was allowed to visit my cat every day while he was there. I also used to take my dog there for vaccinations and was impressed by the staff and the cleanliness of the place. \r \r I moved away, but am thinking of driving miles to use this vet again. more

I Love Them!!! 2/28/2009

I have a small chihuahua that I had found on the side of the road two years ago. I took her to Dr. Richards and he fixed her right up. She was full of heartworms and had a severe staph infection. I really liked the way he treated me and my pet, and his staff was amazing. He really enjoys what he does for a living. I wish there were more veterinarians like him. I definitely recommend him. more

Nice experience 8/23/2007

I took my 13 wk old German shepherd puppy into the vet to get him a checkup and vaccines/worming and the staff was very friendly and they were all very nice to my pup(he was scared while he was there but the staff pet him and comforted him). It was clean, they had a very reasonable price for a checkup (52 dollars for the whole visit (checkup, worming, vaccines, one month free Heartgard and Frontline)) and I have to come back in once a month two more times to finish his series of puppy shots. I didn't catch the doctor's name but he was very professional and friendly. He didn't seem gruff at all to me and he kept commenting my boy! He made me feel very at home and proud of my pup. He was a little stern when I told him I purchased him from a BYB but I would never buy from one again. I told him my concerns and he told me to write them down/document them and bring them all to him on my next visit. All in all I'd definitely recommend him!! more

Kudos to Fairmont Pet Hospital! 6/26/2007

I have used this Vet for over 20 years to treat all of the animals I've had during that time. The Vet is "no nonsense," is very good at what he does, and although he may seem gruff, I think it is due to the fact that he expects people to be more informed about their animals than they are. I had an 18 1/2 year old cat this Vet spayed at 6 weeks by him, and other cat I acquired a few years later that lived to be 19 years old. Now...This Vet did everything possible for my 'babies,' plus he took a mast cell tumor out of my small dog's leg. The tumor was malignant, but the Vet was very upfront, honest and really compassionate. Perhaps it is because I have known and used this Vet for so many years, plus I know his Office Manager rather well. They have been nothing but honest with me and I have never thought that this Vet who is so dedicated to helping my animals live their lives to the absolute fullest has ever been grouchy or abrupt. He is very plain spoken, especially when people have not more

ok vet 8/20/2006

i took my danes here for their first checkup. i was not appreciative of the vet telling me i should not have these two dogs. i realize my backyard is small but keep them in my house and take them out for regular runs and walks. he gave them their shots and we left. i was not impressed with him at all more

Fairmont Animal Hospital 7/10/2006

We found a cute, lost, hungry puppy that I suspect had been dumped in our neighborhood, and of course, the kids wanted to keep him. He had a swollen belly and was covered in fleas, so I took him to the Fairmont Pet Hospital for a checkup, thinking we would be keeping him unless someone posted a "Lost Puppy" sign for him, which I doubted because the puppy didn't seem well cared for. The veterinarian was somewhat gruff, but he told me right off the bat that this puppy was not a good match for our family. We spent some money on the dog that day to vaccinate him and treat him for fleas, and then bought some books on dog behavior and training, but in the end, the vet was right: the dog was not a good match for our family. Despite the vet's gruffness, I appreciated his bluntness in advising me to find another home for the dog, which was most, if not all, Rottweiler. more
