I cannot say enough positive things about eyetique! I have been a contact lens wearer for many years, and recently decided to go back to wearing glasses. Before coming to eyetique I went through three different pairs and was still not happy with the quality of the lenses I was getting from other retailers. The problem isn more

Subpar First Time Experience 10/28/2011

The store personnel I visited came across condescending. You know...the trying to be helpful type attitude because it's their job. I don't know why...maybe because I don't meet their perceived target audience. I really hate when employees think they know a customer when they don't ask questions and lose a sale based on assumptions. Anyhow, the selection is above averaget but I must either find a different location or a competitor that sell the same frames. more

EYETIQUE is greedy RIP off artists 12/3/2009

Even if you spend $700 on 2 pr of glasses, get home and dont like one pr. YOU only get a store credit. The lighting in the store is awful and without contacts, nearsighted people cant see well without their Rx anyway. THey didnt tell me they did not offer refunds, It was printed on my large paper receipt ONLY AFTER I paid them.....THis is dishonest. WHen I complained, the clerk said ""YOU didnt ask"" I have shopped at Giant Eagle optical and Lenscrafters for years and have been very happy. Im sorry I went toi EYETIQUE I will never step foot inside their door Cons: THEY DONT GIVE REFUNDS more

Nice doctor, great service 9/30/2009

I went to Eyetique for a contact exam today and the doctor was extremely nice and helpful. The staff that worked with me were attentive and kind. I will definitely be going back. Pros: Very helpful and nice staff Cons: Expensive glasses more

Great Experience 8/15/2009

I visited Eyetique in Squirrel Hill for the first time recently. It was the closest place to my house that accepted my vision insurance. When I first walked in, I was a little intimidated. However, my overall experience was wonderful. I had an appointment with one of the doctors and he was very thorough, honest, and down to earth. I then looked around for glasses and a man helped me to pick out a pair that was absolutely perfect. They have a huge, stylish selection and without his help I would have never known what to look for. The glasses were a pretty penny, but for a pair that I completely love (which I have never found before) it is totally worth it! HIGHLY recommended Pros: Great service, selection, honest and professional opinions Cons: Expensive more

expensive, but worth it! 6/24/2009

I recently moved to the area and needed a new pair of glasses. I have expensive taste and after looking around at some other places, I couldn't find anything that I really loved, so I decided to check out Eyetique. When I first walked in I have to admit that I was a little intimidated, but the person who helped me out (Blake) made me feel comfortable. I told him my price range was about $500 so he showed me a few frames and they looked good but then he said to hold on while he got a frame that he thought would look great on me. When he gave it to me and I tried it on it was the best one out of all of them and I knew it was the one I wanted. We sat down and he told me the price was $850. It was a lot more that I wanted to spend but I knew it would be worth it and plus, I loved them! I could tell he was a good salesman because I spent more money than I wanted to, but he really caught onto my style and picked the perfect frame for me. All in all, I had a really good experience at Eyetique. Like I said, I spent more than I wanted to but you can't beat the selection that they carry. I felt the need to write a good review because everyone always seems to point out when someone does something wrong or dissatisfying, but it seems like no one ever points out when they have a good experience. Pros: great selection, knowledgeable staff Cons: pricey more

Blake is a LIAR!!! 3/28/2009

I went to Eyetique for my yearly exam, initially all I wanted was a new prescription for my contacts because my brand was discontinued. I recently got new insurance coverage and I wanted to see what I could get for my dollar, so I agreed to look at glasses, and I found a pair I liked so I said I would order them too. \r Side note, I just worked a 12 hour night shift ending at 7:30am, and I took an hour nap and went to my appointment at 1pm so I was a little tired and loopy, and I told them this when I arrived to warn them. \r Blake, the sleezebag that he is talked me into getting really expensive lenses and I was tired as I said above and was like ""ok why not, I'll have these glasses for like the next 6 or so years."" So as I was walking home and talking to my husband, I realized that $400 is way-way too much money even for really nice glasses (basically the high res lenses, cause I'm legally blind - I put half down because I do not like spending that kind of money). \r \r So I called back Eyetique, no lie 10 minutes after I left, and I told them that I wanted to hold off on the glasses, I don't need them. Well Blake told me that they were already ordered electronically and that they couldn't cancel the order because they were already being processed by my insurance company. I was taken aback by this because it was only 10 MINUTES!!!, since the order was placed and that there was no way that it was already processed. Well Blake said he would call my insurance company and see what he could do and call me back. Well I don't know what he did for 20 minutes, but he probably did not call my insurance company, but he did call me back and said that ""there is nothing I can do, the order is already being processed."" Then I told him that I did not want the glasses and what would he do about that. He then said that he could do that but first he would have to check with ""the people upstairs,"" I was put on hold. Then he got back on the phone and told me that normally they would refund my money, however the lenses I ordered were custom made and they were the only ones in that the store can't keep. So I said ""I'm stuck with glasses that I don't want now?"" Then he got smart with me and said ""I just told you that they can't be canceled once the ordered has be submitted."" Then apologized for being smart with me. I was still pleasant on the phone, thinking in my head that I will wear my glasses of shame for a very long time, because at this point I realized that I was SCAMMED! Blake then offered to credit $90 to my account (according to him this is the price difference of the next lens down from the ones I ordered). So I was like whatever, is that the best you can do? And then he had the audacity to ask me if there was anything else he could do to make me happy. At this point I was tired and sad. So I said no thank you.\r Well.... it dawned on me to call my insurance company myself since Blake told me that it was their fault that I couldn't cancel my glasses. \r SO I did. And I love Nedra of VBA, because she looked at it and basically laughed at me when I told her my dilema. She explained that ""The LAB had NOT processed my data yet, and that my order can still be CANCELED.""\r And this is why BLAKE IS A LIAR! I took Nedra's name and extension number to give to Eyetique in case they gave me even more of a hassle about cancelling my order. But I didn't need it, because when I called back, Blake was busy with another customer, and a nice lady said ""Not a problem we can cancel your order for you and just put the money towards your contacts."" Easy as pie that time. \r \r The only reason I have to deal with Eyetique anymore is to get my prescription from them, I do not plan on getting my contacts from them unless I have to,. My husband is canceling his appointment for next week (and he really needs glasses).\r \r Blake blantantly lied to me SEVERAL TIMES, and that is unexcusable. Pros: hometown people Cons: LIARS more

Bad Service/Rude staff 1/9/2009

I agree with what most of these reviews say. The staff at Eyetique only care about selling expensive frames; I got my contacts there and it was a disaster. First, the doctor got my prescription wrong and had to re-order them. Then, when I lost one it arrived a week after I was told it would and I was given the run-around (""we'll call you back..."") when I called the store. The staff at the Squirrel Hill location is especially unhelpful and basically ignore you unless you have a lot of money to spend. Don't make the mistake of going to Eyetique! Pros: None! Cons: Rude staff, rushed service, overpriced more

Ripped off 1/4/2009

The salespeople weren't particularly friendly; fine. The exam was basic; fine as well. I opted to get my eyes digitally imaged -- I was told the test wasn't necessary, but very useful for future checkups. I mentioned several times that I was interested in this option only because I could get the images emailed to me -- beautiful pictures of the insides of my eyes! They never got sent. I called twice. Months have passed at this point, and I feel ripped off. I only paid the $40 to get the images. I'm not going back. more

Worst service ever, worst quality ever, what a headache, and no you can't get your money back!!! 12/23/2008

Do not buy anything from Eyetique, everything is overpriced and of poor quality. If you do shop at Eyetique make sure you do not put your money down before you get your glasses because once they get your money good luck getting any service or a quality product. With so many other places to shop at there is no reason to go to Eyetique. Save your money and time and shop somewhere else. Ther are plenty of other optometrist out there give them your business they will be happy and you will get a better product. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM EYETIQUE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Pros: they are good at taking your money Cons: quality, service, product, you will never get your money back more

All right, in the end 7/8/2008

I visited the store on June 30th in order to get sports sunglasses from Oakley. They did not have the product I was looking for, but they offered to order it for me. They said it'd be a matter of a few days, and not take longer than a week. They asked me for an initial payment, otherwise they would not place the order. However, they said that when the order is placed, they would come back to me the same day and tell me on what day I could pick up the sunglasses at the store.\r \r However, I heard nothing from then for a full week. I went back to the store, just to hear that the sunglasses haven't arrived yet, and I should come back another time. Today I have phoned them again, with the same result. When I remind them that they told me I would get the sunglasses within a week, and that they said they'd keep me posted, they are friendly but indifferent (they have my money, I have nothing!).\r \r I probably shouldn't have bought there, it's stressing me.\r \r Update: About two weeks after the order, I finally received the product. Since at that time I was in California, Eyetique even re-routed the shipment there. For some reason, suddenly everything worked pretty fast. Cons: poor service, break arrangements more

I'll take better service and quality instead of pastries, thanks very much. . . 6/29/2008

This company prides itself on its service to celebrities, giving the illusion of quality and service. The eye exam itself was pretty standard. The glasses that I purchased were overpriced. I chose frameless glasses, in which the lenses are held in place with a clear strand of basically ""fishing line"". This string broke in about a week after getting the glasses, which took about 2 weeks to get in the first place. When I got them back, the string was not properly aligned in the frame, was too thick, and not tightened enough, so the lens wiggled in the frame. I took it back again, explaining what was wrong, they said they'd fix them, so I left them there for a day. Got them back again, but the string was STILL too thick, and was bending the frame. When I pointed this out, I was told that I was wrong, and was sent on my way. They try to have the image of an ""upscale"" boutique, but I personally find them to be rude and condescending. Don't waste your time and money. Pros: Parking has been relatively easy. Cons: Expensive, poor quality of repair, poor service more

just average 10/7/2006

you might expect just average quality of service with relatively expensive pricing. Not sure if they are competitive enough in the area. more

Best of What's Around 12/10/2005

As a child, I passed by eyetique at least weekly, never knowing what they were all about. Finally one day, I stopped in. They were very friendly, greeting me almost immediately. They helped me choose my frames (Sama) and were very receptive to my thoughts and input. I've had my frames for almost a year and a half, and so far, I have had no breakage with them. I feel I received a quality item that was well worth the price I paid. And the staff was great as well. Highly recommended in my book!! more

exceptional customer service 5/10/2005

I would like to share my experience about eyetique, I have never been happier with the styles, selection, and the above and beyond customer service. the eyetique staff is hands down the most talented group of people in the optical industry, and I have never felt better about spending so much money on an accessory. As a matter of fact, the sales person at eyetique suggested a pair of glasses for golf, maybe it is in my head, but I am playing better. keep up the great work. and I highly suggest that you save your pennies and go check out eyetique more

Do not get your contacts here 1/30/2005

I had a contacts fitting done here, and after they take your money for the fitting, they really don't care about getting you lenses that fit well. It's quite obvious with their attitude. They keep friendly appearances, but I don't feel like I was really valued as a customer. more
