I would have to agree with the rest of the reviews for Exy here, I went for dinner last week with my girlfriend and we were both very impressed. The decor and ambience is very nice and sleek and the service was excellent. The food was the greatest highlight though, I had the lamb which was superb we had the flaming appetiser to start, which I forget the name of but was also great. We will definately be returning again soon and will be recommending this spot to our friends! more

Awesome Addition to GASLAMP - A MUST 4/9/2008

I went to EXY for a happy hour event and was so impressed with the service and delicious cocktails, that I decided to stay with some friends for dinner. The Ouzo-tinis are amazing and the restaurant boasts an extensive wine list, which is very fairly priced - some bottles are priced below what other Gaslamp restaurants charge. We ordered a bottle of wine and I had the scallops, which were three of the biggest scallops I've ever had, slightly seared on top and moist and tender in the middle. The dish came with a risotto, which had a lobster tomato taste to it. A good size portion of everything was served. In a word - DELISH! Bread service too. I think my scallops were just over $20. The dessert we tried was the chocolate torte. It came with a raspberry sauce and a little bit of whipped cream on top. It was dense, yet smooth and melted in my mouth. A+ dessert. Our server was great. Not in that cheesy "i want a good tip" way, but genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome. The chef even stopped by our table to check and see how our meal was. We were there on a Wednesday night and the dining room was busy, but not packed solid. Pros: Great Value. Food and Service Cons: Limited Street Parking more

Great food 4/5/2008

5 friends and I planned on going to the rooftop of Ivy, but with no one there and all of us very hungry we decided to stop at this place that none of us realized had popped up in place of LG's. We were SO happy we did! The restaurant looks like any typical downtown San Diego restaurant, but the food was far superior. The cocktails were fantastic as well - my appletini was probably the best I've ever had, and a friend agreed. Their complimentary appetizers of pita & olive infused aioli made us want more. The flavors of all our meals were fresh and clean - unlike most restaurants now a days that cover flavor in butter & sauces, they relied on great herbs & spices to make their food taste great. Our server was very knowledgeable - and acted like knew that he was, if you get my drift. Can't complain much though, as we got our food & drink in a timely manner. I'm not sure if this restaurant presents authentic Greek cuisine, but if you want great tasting food you should stop by. Pros: Fresh tasting food Cons: ostentatious atmosphere more

I can't remember the name of our waiter, but it is not really important.... Everybody that was wearing a uniform stoped and helped when needed. The recomendations were excellent. We just walked in on a sunday evening with my girlfriend and felt really welcomed so we stayed and we don't regret it. We were the last ones and even though they had already closed when we finished, we wanted to check out the bar and the decor, and the manager and bartender were kind enough to show us the whole place. I recommend it and will go back. GREAT JOB GUYS! -David Torossian more
