The Best Desserts in Town 9/6/2005

Extraordinary Dessert is seriously the best place to get quality desserts. They serve cakes, sorbets, tarts, teas, coffee, and other delicate pastries that not only taste wonderful but are also presented beautifully. This place is also cozy and quaint; a great place to chill with a friend or two. The only cons to this place are it's slightly high prices (~$8/dessert) and long lines during peak hours. Extraordinary Dessert has a second location in Hillcrest, and while the desserts are similiar, the ambiance is completely different. It is more modern and has an atmosphere of a bar/club. more

Beautiful Desserts at a Trendy Cafe 8/14/2005

Extraordinary Desserts features beautifully decorated desserts that are amazingly good. They use high quality ingredients and beautiful decorations such as flowers and a gold leaf. They offer a large assortment of desserts. The menu keeps changing, so there's always something different to try when you go there. It is on the pricey side, averaging about $7 for a large slice of cake. However, the extra money is worth it, because you can't hardly find a place that sells such delicious desserts. The only bad thing is that the cafe gets really crowded, especially during the weekends. It has small tables and booths, so you'll be hard-pressed to find a seat. more

Should be renamed Decadent Desserts 8/12/2005

I've only been to Extraordinary Desserts once, at the location on Fifth in the Hillcrest area, but these desserts are truly awesome. Although the place is rather small and can only seat a limited amount of people both inside and outside, the selection of cakes is diverse. My personal favorite is the Viennese cake, with chocolate, coconut, and several types of fruit on top covered in a chocolate, raspberry sauce. I recommend this place but the only cons are that it is rather expensive (about $7.50 for one slice of cake) and the lines extend past the entrance on the weekends. more

Here you can choose from an assortment of cakes and pasteries adorned with rose petals, and gold flakes. Each plate is like a piece of artwork, so beautiful that you would not want to eat it. The cafe also offers an assortment of coffe drinks and teas to complement the sweet desserts. You can sit inside at the candle-lit tables and admire the shelves of fine Japanese ceramics, or sit outside on the pleasant garden patio. The lines on weekends are long, but the creations from owner Karen Krasne definitely make the wait worthwhile. more

Extraordinary Dessert 8/9/2005

Ferrari is a high performance car with flowed line designs. It can be listed on the top of the most wanting car because its horse powers and model designs. Extraordinary Dessert has the level of Ferrari’s quality in dessert category. There are two locations in SD and each of their exterior designs has unique and different style. I remembered I kept saying wow since I stepped into the front door of the store until I was full by the cake and tea. Cakes were like 3D art pieces with royal designs and presented with final touch on the serving plate. The sweetness of the cake was just right. Place like this is definitely for enjoyment and have a long time talk with your friends. more
