I had seen another orthopedic doctor about a problem in my leg/knee 6 weeks ago and wasn't happy with him. So after the pain got worse, my primary care physician recommended Excelsior. Prior to the appointment I was emailed a link to an online medical history which I filled out, which included a mention of my previous doctor visit. After spending 5 minutes telling Dr. Shields my long story about how I had quad pain, now knee pain, and can barely walk because I can't put weight on my leg, he replied, ""We don't do second opinions, we're far too busy. Go back to your other doctor."" He coldly ignored my pleas to make an exception as I was already there, and in severe pain. So I think that if having seen other doctors is a deal-breaker for them, they should have asked me about that when I made the appointment. Or maybe he should have read my medical history prior to me arriving in the office, letting me think I might finally get some relief. I get the impression they are just a big corporate entity that doesn't care about the patients at all.
