If you need to buy a book for school or anything you can come to Evergreen Books and get the book you're looking for and get it for a reasonable price. If you are just looking for a good book to read than you can also come here to get a good book. more

Excellent Collection 8/14/2005

Evergreen has a wide array of books that one can not find at a Borders or Barnes and Noble. The best thing is their sales racks are always pentiful and that you can get really good deals for out of print text. All in all, its a good place to visit if you need to find a book that is no longer in circ. more

This is one of many places where you can get the local Chinese newspaper or book in Monterey Park. Like the other reviewer said, it's a bit on the expensive side, but the selection kind of outweighs the negatives. Spend some time here and take a look around at the interesting book topics. more

Old to new 8/10/2005

Evergreen book houses a absolutely huge range of books. The store is absolutely gigantic with bookshelves lined up like a never ending sea. The books are 95% in Chinese, and a few in English. While the front part of the store is modern, most of the books are historical books that analyze history, such as the rise of Mao Tse Dong. The prices are expensive, but you can find books here that you’ll never find anywhere else. more

Chinese book store 8/8/2005

Located in Monterey Park, it's one of the larger bookstores and compares to SUP Bookstore across the street. It's a Chinese bookstore so they sell all types of Chinese books. My mom usually goes there for the cookbooks. Since I can't read Chinese, I'm not really sure how well their collection is on all types of books but I do know that if you can't find it here, the sales people can usually direct you to a place where you can find it. more
