Editorial review from Citysearch 8/6/2012

Dr. Lambert is truly the kindest and most caring veterinarian I have ever encountered. He loves his job and it shows. I have been to other vets who charge and arm and a leg for next to nothing. My dog has had two of the same surgeries and at another vet I was charged upwards of 3000. The same surgery by Dr. Lambert was $700 and my dog was at his clinic for 2 whole weeks versus 3 days at our other vet. Amazing. This just shows how much he cares about his animals and their owners over the profit. Love him! more

Best Doctor I've ever been to 3/28/2012

From the front of the clinic you can tell Dr. Lambert has a small practice and is more concerned with the health of your pet than making a large profit. He is the most kind and respectful doctor I have ever met, and that includes every human doctor I've ever been to. I've seriously never met a doctor that was more respectful and cared more about his patients and their owners. He answers every question you might have and will spend as much time with you as you need and won't charge you a dime extra for it. He is what doctors used to be...going into a profession to help others even at the expense of his own time, helping others even at off hours if a necessity. I just came from his clinic and could not help but write a glowing review as soon as I got home. My cat may need surgery, and right away he stressed that if it's too much to pay that he gladly to the surgery and offer a payment plan to cover the costs, without a concern for what your credit might be. This is the type of doctor I would gladly pay more to see and instead he offers the most affordable prices in town. I sincerely hope to convince others to see him to not only keep his practice open for another generation but to enforce his practice as the absolute best that other doctors should strive to achieve. I have seen dozens of doctors for my own medical needs and it saddens me that the nicest and most caring doctor I have ever met has been a veterinarian. There should never be a question about where to go for your pet's care. He is on the other side of town for me but even if he was an hour away it would be worth the time and the cost of gas at today's prices to go see him. more

I love this Doctor 7/11/2011

Yes he is getting older but he is a great Doctor. I agree that it is not the best looking clinic or the biggest but he really does care about animals. He takes his time with people to explain and I feel that he is truly concerned. He will be in pain and still work when he could have retired a long time ago. more

The Best in Town 4/29/2011

Dr. Lambert is an AWESOME Vet. I am 30 years old, and as far back as I can remember, he has taken care of my family's horses. Most vets. would not leave their home to come out in the mid of night to treat a sick animal. Dr. Lambert has done this many times throughout my 30 years, and my family and I are truly grateful and hold great respect for Dr. Lambert. He has truly answered his calling. Those of you who know like I do, know he is definitely not in it for the money because his prices are unbelievable. He's a vet. because he truly loves animals and enjoys and loves what he does!! more

Great Doctor and Staff!! 8/25/2010

I took my pregnant cat to see Dr. Lambert today after I brought her to the doctor at Petsmart yesterday. She needed a c-section because she could not have her kitten, it was breech. The doctor at petsmart told me it would be $400 dollars, I did not have that much and his only other suggestion was to have her put to sleep. So the doctor gave her a shot of oxytocin and sent her home. I called Dr.Lamberts office and he personally spoke to me and told me to bring her in, he would wait for her, it was almost 6pm. I decided to wait to see if she would have the kitten by herself and after she couldn't I was there first thing in the morning. From the time I walked in the staff was so helpful. He took her immediately and assured me the entire time what he was doing. She had one kitten, who was not breathing, the staff saved her life! \r For anyone who sayd this docotor does not care about animals they are wrong. He saw numerous pets today, even if the owners did not have the money to pay for them. He was more interested in the animals best interest.\r And his staff is very knowledgeable. Could just anyone take a newborn kitten who could not breathe and help her? They did not give up on her and she is doing great!\r Yes, the waiting room is small, and it is a walk in clinic, so If you show up at noon you might have to wait. My suggestion is to get there earlier. \r The bottom line is the staff and the Doctor are great and I could not have asked for more. more

Love Doc Lambert 3/12/2010

From reading previous reviews stating Dr. Lambert is a bad vet, I just had to weigh in. \r First of all, my family has used him for years and I've been taking my animals to him now that I am grown. He has seen us through many emergencies and sicknesses and with all the compassion and care in the world. His prices are unreal (in a good way). I trust my animals with him and wouldn't go anywhere else. The wait is always long but he won't go home until he sees your pets. My lab had a bowel obstruction twice. The first time I was in Georgia and took him to a vet there. It cost me 1500.00 and he was there for 3 days. Doc did his second surgery when we moved back to Lafayette. My dog was there for almost 2 weeks and he only charged me 700.00. He called me everyday with news on my dog and it tells me that he does what he does because he loves it, not to make money. What an exceptional person! Pros: Prices and care more

LOVE HIM 3/4/2010

I have been going to Doc since 1982 (when I was a young girl) He has taken care of my mom's dogs/cats as well as all my babies! I pass MANY vets offices to get to Dr. Lamberts.... well worth my time and money! I would pay twice the price that Dr. Lambert charges to use him.... He loves his ""job""... provides great customer service... LOVE HIM!!! His staff is wonderful...they always treat my baby like a princess! Pros: Cares about the animals and their owners more

Oldie but Goodie 3/5/2009

We have been using Dr. Lambert since we moved here in 1986. I can only say that he has taken very good care of all our pets/fur children. We have both cats and dogs and trust his advice. He is always very attentive. His assistants weigh every pet and record the information on the charts. He always looks my babies over from head to tail before giving them any medication. When you ask a question, he listens and gives options for treatment and only suggests putting an animal down if there is no hope. He is very generous and has always been willing to let us make payments if needed. \r \r When we had to make the decision to put our beloved cat that had CHF to sleep, I felt it was harder on Dr. Lambert than on me. And it was very hard on me as I had this cat from about one week old and bottle fed him. He took care of my baby for 15 years and saw him through many different emergencies as this cat loved to get into trouble. \r \r All I can say is that I am truly sorry the first three reviewers seemed to have had such a bad experience. Dr. Lambert is an older gentleman, his waiting room is small, and there is only one exam room and it is an older building, but it is not unclean. The wait can be long, but he takes time with you and your pets, making sure you understand any treatments and medications you may need. If his care was so bad, his waiting room would not always be packed. I personally have sat 3 hours with my pets and will continue to do so until he retires and then I will have no choice but to go somewhere else. Hopefully that will be a long time away.\r \r Please don't hesitate to use this vet, even with the long wait, you will find an exceptional vet that is very caring, kind, generous and knowledgable. You will never make a visit that you don't hear an apology for the long wait and a very sincere thank you for trusting him with the care of your pets from this exceptional vet. Pros: Caring, Kind, Generous Doctor and Staff Cons: The small waiting room and the long wait. more

Dr. Lambert is an Awesome Vet! 9/20/2008

First of all let me start of saying that I work there! So that windy does not know what she is talking about. Dr. Lambert is a great vet! He is very sanitary and professional. By the way the store room is not in the examining room. They are separated. Also Dr. Lambert does not weigh the dogs, his assistants do! He is a very considerant person. Just because we have a small waiting room does not mean that he is not a good vet! You sound like a very judgmental person. And you should be happy that he even took care of your puppies. The puppies lived so obviously he did something right! Pros: I love everything about this veterinary office. I work there! Cons: No such things as cons there! more

Great vet 6/4/2008

i have had nothing but good experiences with this Vet. when i purchased my puppy the owners of the male dog sent me here. The wait can be a little crazy but it's worth it. more

Best Vet in Town 12/27/2007

My family has been going to him for 25 years. Wouldn't bring my animals anywhere else. \r \r Honest, kind, fair. Pros: Honest, kind, and fair. Cons: Long wait usually! But he won't leave untill everyone has been seen, no apt. needed! more

The Vet from Hell 8/17/2007

PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY ANIMALS TO THIS VET!!! \r When my Boston Terrier had puppies I brought all 6 six of them to Mr. Lambert to be wormed and have their first check up. He is not my usual vet but I tried him because of his low prices. Well, now I see why they are so low!!!! I was mortified by this veterinary clinic!\r **First: The office is soooo small that no more than 3 clients with pets could fit in the ""waiting room"".\r **Second: The people working in the office are very unprofessional and don't know anything about animals.\r **Third: There is only 1 exam room which apparently also serves as the supply closet! This room is full of all kinds of junk and is very dirty!\r **Forth: The doctor is unprofessional, unsanitary, ignorant, and could care less about animals.\r \r When I brought my puppies for their visit they were taken from me by a young girl in the office and were brought into the ""exam room"". When I finished manuvering through the clutter in the ""waiting room"" and entered the ""exam room"" I found Mr. Lambert shooting worm medicine in the puppies' mouths. Keep in mind that these dogs were never weighed! He didn't even remove them from the box I brought them in. Then I asked that the mother and one of the puppies be looked at a litter closer because of suspected problems. So he ""looked"" at them...just looked! He didn't even touch them and proceded to say they look ok to him! A couple days later someone bought one of the puppies and took it to the same vet where they were told the puppy and worms and a hernia. He also told the new owner that I picked the worm medicine up and was going to worm the puppies myself! Which was a lie he is the one that did the worming!!! When I confronted Mr. Lambert about this issue he acted like he had no idea what was going on. So I ask you....Is this who you want taking care of your beloved pets? I know I don't and I will never set foot in that hell hole again! Please take my advice and do the same! more

Pet Cemetary 1/9/2007

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! Three of my own pets DIED under his ""care"". His staff is incredibly negligent. Don't be seduced by his low prices. Your animal will be abused or worse. Cons: everything more

Does not love animals 7/30/2006

Mr. Lambert ( and I call him Mr because I do not think that he deserves the title of doctor) has numerous counts of animal cruelty in his past. He was caught shooting up racing horses with illegal speed. What animal lover does this. He does not have your animals best interest at heart. He advised me to put my own animal down when I did not have to. I lost a beloved friend because of his wrong advise. I not only lost him but his life ended on my decision based on what this doctor told me. Please do not trust your animals with him. Pros: There are none Cons: He doesn't have your animals best interest at heart more
