Immediate Relief from Lower Back Pain 4/16/2009

Esprit Wellness provides an excellent service. I have worked with chiropractors in the past, so I do have a point of reference. I highly recommend Dr. Sid. After my first day of working with him I had immediate relief from my lower back pain. (I was really surprised by how quickly I saw results.) Three treatments later I was free of pain and able to work and enjoy life again. Dr. Sid is personable, knowledgeable and sincere in his practice. Esprit Wellness is a well-run business with a helpful staff that has great energy. The environment is professional and comfortable. They respect your time and care about your wellbeing. The atmosphere is very healing and relaxing (when you wait for the therapist you sit in an amazing message chair). The whole experience is definitely a pleasure. I feel fortunate that I found Dr. Sid?s practice. I look forward to every visit. Pros: Dr. Sid really cares about his practice and clients. Cons: None. more

Wayne Turner 4/3/2009

I was having a really hard time with my back for quite some time now. One day while I was at a meeting Dr Sid notice that I was in serious pain, so he told me about his services. Let me say this just from one visit I went from feeling less than excellent to feeling like I can conquer the world. Dr Sid procedures are very different from the others Doctors that I went to in the pass, he has this new technology machine and manual procedures that does wonders for you. Also till this day which is a month from the time I saw him I have been pain free. That's why you should look up ESPRIT WELLINESS. more

Significant results from the 1st visit 2/20/2009

I recently discovered a torn ligament in my shoulder through an MRI. I had been advised by my MD that my options were to exercise it, have surgery or suffer. After three months of exercise there was zero improvement and still too much suffering. With a little research I found Dr. Sid. He used a technique called ART. I had a significant increase in mobility from the first treatment. I find Dr. Sid caring, professional and ever seeking the latest in natural treatment. Pros: Professional, effective and convenient. more

Amazing!!! 2/11/2009

For the last four years, I have been surviving on the occasional 2-4 hours sleep throughout the course of the day until I was referred to Esprit Wellness and meet Dr. Sid. With his amazing touch and magical techniques, I am able to to lay down on my back and finally get sleep. I am forever grateful to my friend for referring me to this amazing practice that I never thought could exist especially in the core of New York City. more

Not your average chiropractor. 2/9/2009

I moved to NYC a couple years ago and was in search of alternative health care. I never liked taking prescription meds, cortisone shots, or other forms of masking pain. I would rather fix problems for good. So after a friend of mine spoke so highly of this midtown doctor I went to Esprit Wellness. I had multiple issues: low back pain, a slowly recovering bicep tendon tear, and a nagging knot in my back I had since college sports 7 years ago. I have been to many chiropractors before this was like no other. First you walk in to this nice 17th floor office in Midtown, only about a 5 min walk from Grand Central to be greeted by the wonderful staff. The waiting room is not chairs with old magazines its a serene space with relaxing music ...and massage chairs!!! Then to the therapy, I worked with a therapist before seeing the doctor who worked out some knots and adhesions in the muscles with some very deep tissue work...amazing. Then the doctor came in and performed some ART (Active Release Technique), which come to find out was able to alleviate the sports injury from years ago after only a few sessions (I had physical therapy and probably at least a hundred deep tissue massages to try to correct this before with no success). Having used to be a serious athlete I have been to a lot of chiropractors for regular maintenance and alignment so I know a good adjustment. Dr. Sid is an expert at adjusting. He is very well trained and is so specific with his adjustments that you only feel the adjustments where you should be feeling it (if you are lucky enough to have been to a good chiropractor you know how important this is). He is truly a master of his craft which includes much more than just chiropractic. I also have a friend who just started a scoliosis treatment program at Esprit and has seen impressive results, a wonderful alternative to the invasive scoliosis surgery she was contemplating. I would highly recommend Esprit Wellness to anyone seeking relief from pain. Pros: highly trained, variety of treatments, great staff, open late and weekends Cons: wish I would have know about this place sooner more

Highly recommended 2/7/2009

I have multiple herniated disks that have caused me considerable pain over the past 2 to 3 years. One large bulge in my lower back and 2 in my upper back. After 4 other chiropractors, 1 neurologist a pain specialist and 2 epidurals, I have finally found some relief at Esprit Wellness. Dr. Sid was able to help with my pain after a few visits and for the first time in 2 years I?ve had a mostly pain free week. Before starting my treatments I was taking up to 12 ibuprofens a day. I was really starting to get scared that I was headed toward kidney failure. I am now completely off the Motrin. Needless to say, I highly recommend Esprit Wellness Chiropractic and Dr. Sid. Pros: Relaxing enviornment, great equipment, provides home activities to assist in healing more

Personalized Skillful Care... 5/5/2008

By the time I visited Esprit Wellness, I had suffered with years of neck and back pain. I had been visiting another medical office where I would have limited chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy and trigger point injections. I was prescribed with a strong medication for arthritis which I avoided taking. That office also referred me for a back surgery consultation and I was leery of that recommendation. Pros: Ambience, Personal Attention, Cutting Edge Techniques more

Esprit Wellness and Dr. Sid is a Must! 4/21/2008

Dr. Sid and his staff at Esprit Wellness are without equal. They are polite, consultative and highly creative; they care about your health. I've had major back and neck problems and have visited a number of different chiropractors in the city; they all rushed me in and out. I was not a valued patient and did not feel better or make improvements. Thus, I gave up on chiropractors. Pros: the best chiropractor around more

Dr. Sid fixed my banged up shoulder 3/31/2008

I've had a shoulder impingement on my right side for about 8 years, during which I moaned a lot about it but didn't do much to solve it. I think I overdid it doing shoulder presses at the gym and was in pain ever since. It limited my range of motion terribly - couldn't hold doors open for people or reach into the back seat of my car - every exertion made it ache, and sometimes keep me up at night. I couldn't even touch my hands behind my back. I had done some periodic exercizes and occasional therapy, but nothing on a consistant basis. So, Dr. Sid started Active Release Techniques (ART) on me three times a week for the first few weeks, along with a brief targeted massage, a rest in a wonderful massage chair, and a chiropractic adjustment. Anyway, after doing the ART, I quickly noticed improved range of motion and less pain. We started out 3 times a week for a few weeks, then twice a week for a few weeks, now I'm down to once a week. The sessions are pretty tough, - think big tight pinching in very specific spots- but it's over quickly and the benefits are almost instant. My trainer at the gym has me doing increasingly challanging shoulder exercizes and I'm feeling stonger with no pain. From the world's biggest skeptic, Dr. Sid has won a convert. He is Magic! Highly recommended & would recommend friends & family. Thanks Dr. Sid!! Pros: ART, nice massage therapists, seductive massage chairs, zenlike atmosphere more

Thank you Dr. Sid!!! 3/28/2008

i went to see Dr. Sid on a recommendation from a friend and i'm so glad i did. after experiencing months of back pain and and trying other doctors and physical therapy and everything else and getting no relief, i'm finally better! dr. sid was very thorough, explained everything to me and came up with a realistic and incredibly helpful treatment plan. i felt better after just one session! the office is serene and state of the art, and i feel like i'm in very good hands when i'm there. not to mention.. the massage before his adjustment is amazing and relaxing. i have recommended dr. sid to everyone i know and feel luck for having found him! Pros: clean, upscale office more

Great Therapy for Athletes 3/5/2008

I was fortunate to meet Dr. Sid one evening at the gym. As an Ironman triathlete years of swimming was starting to seriously affect my left shoulder. My own research seemed to indicate the popular ?swimmers shoulder? syndrome and I was at a point where I couldn?t get through a swim session without considerable pain followed by discomfort days later. I was starting to convince myself that swimming 3 times a week just wouldn?t be an option anymore. Then I learned about Active Release, a therapy which breaks-up accumulated scar tissue, restores functional movement, and has an excellent success rate. I knew I needed the treatment but was always either too busy or had some other excuse why I couldn?t schedule an appointment. I?m certainly glad that I went to see Dr. Sid because through his Active Release sessions I?m back in the pool again with little if any discomfort and with each session my shoulder continues to improve. I am so relieved that Dr. Sid has been able to correct years of accumulated damage and continue something I enjoy. Once again I?m able to lift weights and do other excercises like push-ups which used to hurt. Dr. Sid also made me aware of the causes for some other neck and back issues I was having and through his adjustments I?m feeling stronger and healthier overall. Dr. Sid is passionate about his practice and completely client focused. Also, the spa like environment feels like a treat to visit his office. Pros: Great office, Client Focused, Very Thorough more

Zen-Like Healing Oasis in Midtown 3/1/2008

At Esprit Wellness, the amiable ""Dr. Sid"" wields his experience and expertise (see above two reviews) in a peaceful, beautiful space that feels more like a spa than a medical office. As a physically active, full-time Yoga teacher, city cyclist, scooter commuter, and mother of an active boy, I find I always feel stronger, more relaxed, knots and tensions eased, when I've received an adjustment from Dr. Sid. He strongly believes in education, and his medical massage therapists are great, too. My personal half-hour ""spa"" in the midst of a busy workday or week is going there to get an adjustment, whether for a pain or tightness or just for fatigue or to boost my immunity during a busy period - and then reclining in one of their luxurious, full-length massage chairs in the quiet, soothing room that provides a resting space before or after your adjustment. My favorite program is the: Acupressure. The AM and PM programs are great, too - anytime! Take your time over several visits to try them all! The atmosphere of the tastefully appointed space, the staff, and Dr. Sid are a welcome oasis of serenity dedicated to natural healing and sensibly backed by experience and knowledge, right in midtown. Pros: Ambience, Dr. Sid's Professionalism and Personableness, Massage Chairs, Massage Therapists. Cons: Most, but not all, insurance plans are accepted. more

Excellent Chiropractic skills and scoliosis evaluation 2/5/2008

I had met Dr. Sid through a friend of a friend who recommended him when I told them I was experiencing some back pain and was diagnosed with a slight case of scoliosis early in my childhood. From the moment I stepped into the wellness center, I began to feel very relaxed. At first he spoke to me, talked about everything I was experiencing with my pain and running down my history. After explaining alot of what he does and taking some x-rays, he explained to me full detail how the curve in my spine effected some of the other areas of my body which could be resulting in my pain. As A kid I never even really knew what scoliosis meant but he really made me understand what was going on. He also was not quick at all to have me wear a brace which many other doctors are quick to recommend. After a series of chiropractic procedures, Dr Sid showed me how he could help remedy my situation and I immediatley began to feel better in my back after performing these exercises. I can not wait to begin seeing him on a regular basis to reliveve my back pain in the future. Dr. Sid is also very patient and really has a way of making his patients understand and feel comfortable. Thanks! Pros: Knowledgeable, Trusting, Honest, Explains well more

Wellness for Body and Mind! 2/5/2008

I met Dr. Sid at my gym. I had been having pain in my elbow that was really interfering with my weight lifting. He talked with me about Active Release Technique, a hands on therapy to break up the scar tissue and ""stuff"" (highly technical and really needs to be explained by him!). He is also a chiropractor, but if you have been to one before, be prepared for a totally new experience. His office is amazing! Calming, peaceful, zen-like. The tables for the chiro work are right out in the open...no rabbit warren of adjustment rooms. You start out in one of the cool, really effective massage chairs, then move to a therapy room for a mini-therapeutic massage...really good hands on hand! Dr. Sid's chiro adjustments are effective and delivered always with humor! The ART has been amazingly successful for me. After having to drop my lifting weight dramatically due to the pain, I am now (in less than three months) back to lifting more (pain free) than when I started the therapy. Thanks, Dr. Sid! Pros: Treatment effectiveness; full service; ambience; chiro you look forward to! Cons: None! more

Expert Prenatal Natural Chiropractic and Massage 2/4/2008

I recently gave birth to my first child! Throughout my pregnancy I experienced much discomfort - nausea, headaches, low back & pelvic pain, and front thigh numbness and tingling. My baby was also in breech position until the 36th week. I am grateful I was referred to Dr. Aatif Siddiqui (""Dr. Sid"") for drugless, non-noninvasive, alternative care. more
