Don't believe the planted reviews from Eric Goodman. These apartments are atrocious. They are dilapidated, old, ugly, and any repair (good luck getting the super) is done with shoddy workmanship. The hallways are dirty and always have a weird smell.\r \r The only way you'll get ahead living in one of their apartments is to renovate it yourself and never move. \r \r They'll show you one of their horrible apartments and say something like ""you'll pay much more for this in another building"" that's total nonsense. It's really a disgusting place to live. Pay $50 more and live in a better place. more

As city dwellers we have all had our fair share of realtor/management company nightmares’; it was a dream to work with Matt Goodman at Eric Goodman Realty! \r \r I was referred to Matt from another one of his tenants. I needed to move in a short time (one week) and had a laundry list of requests for my new place. Matt really listened to what I wanted, respected my time and only showed me places that were right for me. Matt, along with his knowledgeable team, made the entire process as easy as humanly possible. I really felt that Matt was an advocate for me; his genuine compassion for what is a naturally stressful time, immediately puts one at ease. \r \r I love my new home! The Super is professional and efficient. My building is amongst the most well maintained buildings that I have ever lived in. I had one minor issue in my apartment, my call was immediately returned and the repair was made record time. \r \r Matt was very patient, professional, and really went the extra mile. I encourage you to ask for him the next time you're looking for a place to call home! Eric Goodman Management has been wonderful to work with...They have gone above and beyond my expectations and I've been very pleased with their hard work ethic. I have lived in New York City for a few years and have had my fair share of difficult realtors and landlords, so it was was a huge relief for me to come across Eric Goodman Realty. The realtors/landlords there are extremely friendly, reliable and responsible, and they truly care about finding you the best apartment possible for your budget and lifestyle. I moved into one of their studio apartments a little over a year ago and have been extremely happy with the building management - I plan on being here for several more years to come. Everyone there is extremely attentive, and if there is ever any minor concern or question, they are there to help you right away. I feel safe and looked after! Moreover, they really foster a feeling of community and caring in their apartments. \r \r I worked specifically with Lena (who is fantastic! No pressure, an absolute sweetheart, she really listened to what I was looking for in an apartment and made sure I was taken care of once I moved in), and Eric and Matt have also been great!\r \r Eric Goodman Realty is an absolute gem in the difficult world of NYC real estate. If you want to work with a realtor/landlord who will listen to you, make sure you get the best apartment possible, and then make sure you are HAPPY while living there, call these guys! more

I think this might be the exception to the rule... I've been living in NYC for 6 years and I've been in the same apartment since I moved in. Eric and his team took care of everything and have been super responsive every time I had an issue, concern, question. This is probably not normal at all. I'd get called back within minutes when I needed something, or they'd send the super right away (the super is also very attentive and friendly!). Even when I had issues that they had nothing to do with, they took good care of me!! I am not sure this is even real. They are just too too nice! more

Eric Goodman Realty has been in business for 24 years, and in the past five years alone, has rented to over 100 tenants who came in on a referral from either a previous tenant, or a satisfied client. We take pride in providing excellent service to our clients and tenants. In addition, we’ve had several tenants move within our company’s array of properties; from a studio, to a one-bedroom upon marriage, and when the little ones were born, to a two-bedroom. The sad truth is that people who are happy with services don't usually take the time to write on these websites and give positive reviews. Please look at the reviews on insiderpages,com in order to gain a well-rounded opinion of our company.\r \r We felt compelled to respond to the “slumlord” comment after a gentleman who signed a lease with us last night brought it to our attention. He expressed concern after reading it, but was kind in saying that he didn't believe it, but wanted assurances. The broker on duty pulled up the HPD (Department of Housing Preservation and Development) report for the building wherein he was renting, and it clearly showed that there are ZERO violations on the building. By anyone’s definition, a slumlord does not maintain buildings with zero active violations.\r Without going into the particulars of this person’s situation—as there is no need to start a debate on this forum—this tenant’s complaints are unmerited and her use of the words slumlord is rather libelous.\r \r We encourage anyone looking for an apartment, who may read this person's post, to keep in mind that we manage over 200 apartments, and have rented apartments in many other buildings through our brokerage services. We conduct hundreds of transactions per year. All of our buildings are well-maintained by any standard, including that of the HPD, and many apartments have in fact been updated.\r \r If you are looking for an apartment and see one of our ads or signs, please feel free to call us, and come look at an apartment; please ask for a building report, and, of course, talk to the neighbors. I have lived in NYC all of my life, I have seen a few rough landlords, but this Eric Goodman reality-management takes the cake. They will rent you a slum apt, with a slum landlord and blame you when things do not work,. Now most things do not work as the apts they manage have not been updated in many years. stay away, they are not trustworthy, and your health and security is most important. Their thug mentality is rather disturbing but remeber you will not see this until you move in. So buyer beware of this Eric Goodman and son,. Cons: slumlords, not to be trusted more

Unreliable. Some days you won't have hot water. Some days it's 1000 degrees in your apartment, other days it's freezing. Charges fees. Appliances don't work. Language barrier with super.
