I've rented from this location (Hackettstown, NJ) since 2005, maybe 45 days total. First the good: until yesterday, the experience has always been outstanding. I'm a car nut and getting a good deal on a rental of a new or near new car makes my day(s) - I scope out the lot as my rental time draws near to see what they currently have available, which is always changing. The staff, usually youngish, have always been Great! In September, the CSR that I rented from (forgot her name, maybe mid 20's, brown hair (?), slender) was very cheerful and efficient. I was trying to get a 2013 Impala, couldn't do, but got a new Camry with 71 miles on it. Great trip, great return, said to call her when planning my next trip (which I thought would be sooner but that's life). That brings us to yesterday, March 21, 2014, a change for the worse as far as my relationship with Enterprise goes. I couldn't wait until today to find out if they had something ""interesting"", I thought if they had something I liked I would pick it up that night and do a 3 day weekend rental for $26 more (minus the $9 over mileage I knew I was going to incur, $17 net difference). A young sounding lady answers the phone (not the same voice I remember) cheerfully, I identify myself and say I have a reservation for a full size tomorrow, could you tell me what you have in stock right now. She gives me the ""we'll find out tomorrow when you pick up the car"" drill. I give her a little more detail about my request, get the above again. Hmmm, not happy. She then asks if CC or Debit, I say ""Debit"", says to bring utility bill and DL; WTF, didn't you look me up in the system to see if I was in there? (I'm in their rewards program, so I know my profile is in there.) I'm then told $250 security deposit plus rental $52. I told her to cancel my reservation, which she cheerfully agrees to do (without asking why or trying to retain my business). A couple of hours later, after not receiving an email confirming my cancellation, I call the Toll Free Number and cancel it, get confirmation in a few minutes. I also canceled my rewards account, will only rent from Enterprise if I have no alternative.
