Great place to live! 3/11/2011

I have been here for several years now and really enjoy having a home in this community. Very well maintained, friendly office staff and good people, if you are looking at being in a mobile home community you won't find a better place than Emerald Hills Village. more

long time resident by choice 2/21/2009

To live here you must sign an agreement to follow a lot of picky rules. While these rules do limit some freedoms, like not being able to work on a car on your own lot, they also help keep the place fairly clean and orderly. In general this is a safe and pleasant neighborhood with very little crime. There are nice people and well maintained homes. The rent does rise each year and the management does try to make small improvements like additions to the playground and patching the roads. Eventually they do need to redo the roads and that will be an expensive project. I fear for the rent increase that year! All in all, I prefer living here to renting an apartment. In a manufactured home we have private space. The pool is small but clean and well supervised. A curfew does limit night time wanderings of teens. This adds to my feeling of security. There are no stores within walking distance, but the YMCA with a wonderful indoor pool is only a half mile from my door. By walking about 20 minutes I can catch an hourly bus into the town of Eagan but would like a closer bus stop. The on site management is responsive to phone questions and is helpful. Pros: Appearance, especially in the summer. Location. Pet and child friendly Cons: Roads in older section are really looking tired! more

Good place to live 2/20/2009

I've been here for a while and I find EHV a nice place to live, the lot rent is reasonable and the neighbors are nice. My only complaints are there is no bus service so to go anywhere you have to have a car. Probably not a big deal for most people, however I don't like to drive so I will be moving out eventually to a place which does have bus service. My other complaint is it would be nice if our parking spaces, or driveways as they are called, were a little larger. Other than that I find it pleasant to live here. Good luck in your search for a community! Pros: Off street parking, pool, curbside trash/recycle, playground, speed bumps Cons: BIG speed bumps, no bus service more

Cutting corners on who they let in 11/17/2008

We've become increasingly disappointed in Emerald Hills. They've started to cut corners on who they let in here, and they've started to let a lot of ""riff raff"" in the community to make up the slack for the slow housing market. In the several years we've lived here, we've seen things go downhill, and it is frustrating since we don't have the money to relocate at this time. Pros: Amenities are okay, but nothing outstanding. more
