Never Again 3/19/2006

I don't like being sung to while I eat. Even at a place with good singers on staff. It's just not my thing. I should never have come to Ellen's. I realize that some people enjoy this and I should just steer clear of restaurants made for this type of person. But I was there and decided to just stick it out for a meal with a couple of friends. And then I was joined by a small insect that is lovingly referred to by both its Spanish & English names. I told my waiter and still had to pay for all of my meal despite the fact that my small antennaed friend had caused me to lose my appetite and completely set me against the restaurant forever. Never again will I set foot in there. more

Great for tourists 9/1/2005

If you happen to want a diner with incredible kitsch and campy entertainment, Ellen's Stardust Diner is the place to go. Brimming with tourists who can't get enough of that Broadway feel, this place oozes cheese. The waitstaff are Bway wannabees who in between taking meal orders, sing standards. The food is extra high priced diner cuisine, but don't expect the service to equal the cost since the singers are serving in between performances. more

Retro 1950's ol school 8/4/2005

Ellen's stardust is really one of the kind. Once you see the outside of the diner, it lures you to step inside. It has a fanastic exterior, sort of like a train car outside the door area. They also have a drive in theatre screen! The food is amazing, all american food such as french fries, salads, ice cream floats, lots and lots of desserts. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The price of the food is inexpensive because of the huge portions. You would might have to doggy bag it. more
