I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about under the "use caution" review. Elite does not charge their employees a fee of any size.

Elite Show Services 12/23/2011

I have worked in the security field for 10 yrs on the east coast. I have not worked for Elite but have worked for GMI here and have definitely noticed a similar obnoxious attitdude of 1. favortisem- which is completely unprofessional, and 2. sh*t pay. first when you hire someone and they say they need full time than you should give it to them instead of paying double time to someone else, that's just common business sense as well as wasting company funds. 2. you get what you pay for, when you pay shit wages, especially in this econemy, than that job that the person was psyched to do, becomes a shit job and they don't put in their all; Especially if you're not paying them enough to pay their bills. Then you'll get people who would have given 110%, and now not caring because they're getting wrongfully treated like sh*t from the very beginning. Everyone should come in at an equal opportunity chance, You shouldn't have to prove anything, especially the right to have 40 hours a week. GMI does do that, They totally favor one person over another and am not an equal opportunity employer, and judging from the eval of so called Elite, I bet they are the same. I didn't initially go with them when I was looking because they under pay their employees, and You should not have to kiss ass to get an equal chance of a full 40 hours. I am surprised that GMI and Elite haven't been seud for failure to be an equal opportunity employment. Any compnay that pulls that should be reported to the better business beuro for unprofessional practices and unfair treatment and well as failure to follow equallity standards.Don't go with GMI and Don't go with Elite, whether as an employee and especially not as a client. As a client you want a company that has people that like their job, will put %110 into it. When you disrespect your employees, you distroy theor motivation thus not getting %110. As a client I don't want a company gaurding my property where their employees are disgruntled or feel they area being shafted by their employer. more

Great Company 3/4/2010

Having worked for Elite for a number of years I can provide first hand information. This is a great company to work for. The managers know what they are doing and have lots of experience. I am able to work a schedule that fits my needs. When I was hired I was never promised full time work and that's what I was looking for. Plus they really care about doing a good job for their customers and the work is fun. more

Contradiction 1/13/2010

Having worked for this company for a number of years I have a few things to get off of my chest. Firstly is that, within any given company you will have rude, arrogant people who seem barely capable of holding a crayon correctly. Especially a company of over 5,000 people. Second, there are numerous things that go into planning an event. The easiest way to get unorganized is by the client/promoter giving contradicting information. As a client or promoter you need to know exactly what you expect and stick to it. Don't change a million things last minute and still expect perfection. It just wont happen. Also about not getting work from Elite as an employee, you must first PROVE YOURSELF, as with any other company out there. Then you will begin to get the "better jobs" etc. No one should expect to walk into a part time position and pull 40+ hours a week the first week, no matter what company you work for, it just does not happen like that. Anywhere. However if you are capable of doing a good job and following orders and listening to supervisors you will go far. This company takes all employee reports seriously, both good and bad. All supervisors must grade every employee on their shift that day and EVERY SINGLE report gets read. So do your job and all will work out ok in the end. Elite is a top notch company that is very very hands on from the bottom all the way to the top. It is not infrequent to see the president/CEO out on the job site interacting with employees. What other company will you see this at? more

Use caution 4/13/2009

Be aware that when you pay them a very large fee, you might not get much work. I felt a little deceived by the whole process. I would not recommend working for this company. The Chargers should know how they treat the hired help, which is sub par in my opinion. more

Don't work for Elite! (From a former employee) 10/3/2008

The only time they need you is at a large event, because every other event they have has a "core" group. Yeah, you can work a Chargers game, but don't even think about the Padres. You don't get top pay unless you work at Petco Park, Qualcomm Stadium, or the Convention Center. Otherwise, it's just above minium wage. You can call their scheduling office until you're blue in the face, and not get work. They play favorites. So go somewhere else, it's not worth it! more

God Help Elite !!! 12/12/2006

I hope that you are not looking for security officers that are capable, presentable and all around qualified... If you are looking for that please choose another security/event staff company. Maybe you should look outside of San Diego. Or maybe you should hire Muslim Jihad to protect your assets. more
