Elaine's is a noisy Upper East Side restaurant and bar (more bar, although the food is decent) that has the same vibe as the nearby Dorrian's while being less infamous (Dorrian's was the location where "the preppy murder" case of the 80s began). Still, if you have a hankering for loud, drunk yuppies, or are one yourself and want a burger to go with your appalling midori-based cocktails and beers, this is the place for you. The rest of us just groan at its existence.
