I have been going to el Toro Taco since 1985, there is not a friendlier place with better Mexican food around. Bring your own cooler with your own beer or wine. Order the Bean dip...

Great food. Great service. I've seen it packed - now I know why. My family will be back for more. Thank you. more

Ok this restatraunt looks great from the outside. It is highly recommended as authentic Mexican food. DO NOT EAT HERE. There have been deaths and sightings of large and rude roaches on multiple occassions. It has recently been shut down AGAIN by the health department for critical violations of over 300 hundred live roaches and several dead ones. Slime in the ice-bin and multiple other offenses. This is NOT the place to eat if you value your health or your life, two people are reported having died from eating here. Take your business across the street for a safe, and enjoyable truly authentic Mexican meal. Casita Tejas has a pleasant staff, a clean kitchen and delicious food. You will not die eating here. I am not a family member or in any way connected to either place. more

El Toro Taco was closed Monday (7/9/12), by Health inspector. Later in the day I saw them pressure cleaning the kitchen, they threw out tables, equipment, etc. The next day they were back open. Think about this before you go, The State shut them down!! Thats nasty! more

The best Mexican restaurant in Homestead. Everything is made fresh...great atmosphere, small town locals add to a great vibe. more

Sorry, that was rude. Homestead has some cool stuff to offer up. However if you leave Homestead without eating here you need your head checked. Good Mexican in Miami is few and far between. We have amazing Cuban, Colombian, Nicaraguan, Argentinean but for great Mexican you have to go south! more

If you grew up in Texas or California and enjoyed their variety of Mexican food, this is your place. Family-owned and operated with consistently good fresh food (including salsa = pico de gallo), this unpretentious pleasant neighborhood joint (that draws in patrons from all over southern Florida) is for you. Their menudo is the best of all the many Mexican restaurants in the Homestead area. Street parking may be a little distant on busy Saturday nights and when they are very crowded, service is a bit spotty -- but both are worth braving for the fare. more

The best family owned legitimate Mexican Restaurant in South Florida. The service is great and the food is fresh and delicious. Not a franchise restaurant. It's great and I travel the 30 miles often just to eat there. I guarantee that once you try it, you are hooked! more

They open at 10 on Sunday and serve a Mexican breakfast (in addition to their lunch menu) from 10-12. This place is GREAT! more

A fabulous family restaurant with the best Mexican food in Miami. We have been going here for years, dining on the delicious enchiladas and tacos at the rare times that they don't have pollo mole available. Their mole tastes like the best we have had in Oaxaca. I love their menudo too. The tortillas taste fresh and the salsa is superb. It's BYOB, so you must bring your own beer if you want some with your meal. more

Exactly, a week ago we were to this place because we were foolish of what heard in the street or news, please don't allow yourself got into the foolishness too. since most of the people inside the place were white. management since we got in, other than the girl that brought us the menu, everybody else behavior was like if we were a picture hanging in the wall, the food took like an hour to be ready and even to pay I had to get up and go to the cashier to pay, apparently we weren't ""WHITE ENOUGH"" to be treated with courtesy and respect like anyone else. Definitely, don't recommend this place, if your color skin is not white. But the funny part is that the management and most of the staff are ""MEXICANS"" nothing they deserve what their got been trowed over the fence to the other side of the BRAVO river. more

While we have eaten here on several occasions we will never be back. The owner of this place is a joke. Yesterday my family and I went to have a nice dinner. We have a special needs child so we phoned ahead. They said they had plenty of availability so we headed out. After ordering an appetizer an entire baseball team showed up for dinner. They were out for a good time but got extremely loud which made my son uncomfortable and Ancy. We approaced the owner to see if we could be moved to the back as they had plenty of open tables, by this point my son was screaming ! He arrogantly asked " who is screaming" as if my son was a second class citizen or a burden. He adamantly refused our request and blantely made it clear we should leave... Wow! This guy has no manners and is definitely not fit to be running a restaurant! He prefers to be DRINKing with his customers rather then accommodating a family eating at his restaurant by the way on another occasion he has refused to split our bill as we had a large party! Somebody like this does not deserve our or anybody elses business.. Don't eat here!! You will regret it.. I wouldn't take the time to write this long of a post if I didn't mean it! more

El Toro Taco used to be a gem...USED TO!!\r I went today and the queso was like soup. We sent it back and the owner came out and apologized because he no longer could make the queso the same because the price of cheese had gone up 75 cents.....really..????? The food was not even warm, on top of that some people next to us stood up and left without even paying. Which we should have done but my girlfriend is too nice. more

This is the worse mexican food that ever had. The food was unseasoned we waited for the food for 45 minutes after all you have to stand up and make a line to pay. The only good thing about the restaurant was the attention of the waiter. I would never return to this restaurant again. more

Eight of us ate at El Toro Taco last night. What a disappointment!!! they put 1 small bowl of salsa on the table. It was like pulling teeth to get more. After about 3 small bowls we where we had to pay 1.75 for each bowl. The food was not good. Meat and Chicken were dry. The owner told us he was never told that before. he was very rude. Some of us took out leftovers home for the dog. He said if it is so bad why are you taking it home. he never said he was sorry we did not enjoy out dinner. We will never go there again. more
