Outstanding 2/10/2009

I have been a rider for nearly 20yrs and have loved one shop and one shop only for all my tack , El Toro Tack & Feed i will tell you why- amazing service, knowledgeable and helpful. Quality items, family Based business, so they take time to know who you are and what you want. they have been my only source for my old man gelding for many years and would'nt have it any other way. Pros: Knoweledge, 1st hand experiance, friendly, quality stock Cons: never enough money to get all i want more

Rude Service 2/7/2009

I'm an adult armature rider and have been a customer for over 10 years. The staff at El Toro Tack and Feed have NEVER been friendly or welcoming. For the most part they are competent and understand the sport which is why I have spent thousands of dollars there. Pros: selection, goods displayed nicely Cons: rude service, high prices- more

Amazing Service 9/27/2008

I was new to the sport and had been to several other places to look for items my trainer suggested i get but no one at the others stores even knew what i was talking about- but at El Toro Tack And Feed not only did they know what i needed but they knew which items my trainer perfered and the staff was not only extremely knowledgable but they were so funny and nice. THey also had Everything i Needed and more lol. The store is so big and beautiful it was hard to imagin it was an equestrian store. i went in knowing nothing but left with a better confidence in my self and my new found love for this sport. Pros: vast inventory, knowledgeable staff with friendly faces Cons: i never have enough time to spend exploring all the many things they have more

an ok tack store 7/17/2008

first of all im not some one from the store. im a 13 year old girl that doesnt have a lot of money but needs a lot of stuff. The staff at El toro is mostly very nice molly can be a bi tch but all the rest are really nice. the store is very pretty. i do admit that they are a little pricey, but i get 10% off because of my trainer. there isnt a lot of parking, but there usualy isnt a lot of people there anyways. I like to go to the close out parties befor x-mas and other times where they actually throw a party and everything is really cheap. The food is pricy, but if you are already up there its not too bad. dont think of this of a bad place its actually pretty nice. Pros: good service nice people Cons: pricey ,not a lot of selection, not a lot of parking more

AVOID this store! 6/22/2008

omg! Are you kidding me?! As a wholesaler, this was the worst store I have ever dealt with. I have never been treated in such a rude and disrespectful manner. Apparently, a family business (with problems). Guy, the owner/manager - or whatever was verbally abusive to me and hung-up on me twice. It's even hard for me to put into words the horrible experience I encountered at El Toro Tack and Feed. I would strongly suggest that you NOT shop there, unless you want to give your business to people who treat people like garbage. Cons: rude staff, high prices, horrible experience, suggest avoiding this store! more

Expensive & Pretentious 1/27/2008

WAY over priced! The same simple stuff...brushes, buckets, hoof dressing...can be purchased elsewhere for much less! (a bucket for 19.99 I found at a tack store in Norco for 6.99...rope halter was about 35.00- I found one at a tack store in San Juan for 19.00) Pros: Very Pretty Cons: Very Expensive more

The Garrett family has been giving back to the horse community for over 27 years 11/11/2007

They sponsor many local shows and riding clubs, established scholarships for the equestrian community and sponsored a $35,000.00 Grand Prix at the Oaks. They are a famliy that has enjoyed the true affection of a loyal community. Many customers have been shopping there for over 18 years, some of their employees have been there over 15 years. They are dependable. If you want something out of the ordinary its a place you will find quality and selection. Like many businesses they have had good times and hard ones. They have always tried to provide a clean upscale environment for the Orange County equestrian and their friends. more

open on sundays thats great 11/11/2007

Unsatisfied customer and wasted my money. 10/17/2007

Expected more and received alot less. Pros: Pretty entry Cons: Quality, Prices, Parking more

recommended 5/18/2007

I wouldn't expect a tack shop to look like this one, Its amazing it is so nice and has such beautiful things. Coming from Texas you dont get this kind of store. Kind of expected dirt and dust and cowboys, what a surprise. Just started riding english and the people there made me feel so comfortable, especially since I don't know very much about english riding. They recommended so many trainers and stables in the area Thanks El Toro Pros: up more

Thanks for fitting my little guys 4/17/2007

enjoyable experience, thanks to their staff, I was able to fit both my little children in their helmets, even with theyre pea size heads. more

my whole family rides again 4/16/2007

Thank you El toro for being the kind of Orange County store people expect high quality, great service and people who seem to care. After just buying two saddles for my daughters, you helped me find exactly what my trainer was wanting for my wife as well. We are customers for life! more

Unrealistic Pricing, Lazy Service 4/14/2007

Service is slow, seemed incredibly lazy. Pricing is unrealistic. Parking isnt a dream. Left and went to other local tack shop. Pros: large Cons: Very impersonal, parking, prices more

hard to beleieve the mean spiritness 4/14/2007

Been a customer at this store for so long, they are the nicest people and cant imagine why the some people feel it is there right to harm a good family, that has given so much to the equestrian community at large. They wish the best for everyone and mean no harm to anyone or any other businesses in the area. Its too bad some people find this as a forum for manufacturing un-truths. They have been in Saddleback Valley for over 25 years contributing to the horse community and other organizations. In hard times and good times they have struggled as a family to make their business survive. How sad since they just posted an internet page that someone has found it necessary to disgrace thier hardwork. Pros: thumbs up more

SLOW and EXPENSIVE 4/13/2007

HOLY COW is this place expensive. I am far from poor or cheap, but this place is insanely expensive. Ive bought saddles and equipment in Europe and they didnt cost so much! 2 people work there and cant get to everyone else. The pricing doesnt match the quality, the saddles and other leather tack were so dry, cracked and brittle, as though no one had oiled them. more

not your ordinary tack shop 4/13/2007

My wife and I were pleased to find a tack shop that was friendly and clean and had most everything we wanted under one roof. Whoooeewee! Out of a few items but they got'em in for us fast.. Never seen a feed store so clean! Pros: service more

Clean up!! 4/11/2007

This is my third and last visit to El Toro Tack and Feed. Not having a whole lot of time, I came there to purchase some feed and a gift; I expected to be in and out quickly. The place was not busy, rarely if ever it is. Looking around I found some clothing and a horse statue, then I went to the cashier to get some feed, it took the lady in the front 15mins to get off the phone to tell me I had to ask the guy working there to go get it. Fine, so after I found him and told him what I needed (8 or more bags), he told me they were out of all but one kind of what I was looking for, he took me to the back and showed me. As I walked back I saw a few bales of hay which were slightly wet and smelled (I knew this wasnt good), then he showed me the bag and opened it (I wasnt familiar with it), I looked closer and saw little worms crawling around in it. He told me it was already opened and they werent going to sell it. Then WHY did you show it to me?? I turned around and walked back to the front and saw the lady before was cleaning something on top of the clothing I was going to purchase. What in the world are they thinking? I asked for the manager and was told he was busy. I cant go back their knowing the feed is old and full of insects, and who knows what else the other stuff in the store has been through. Pros: its quiet cause no one is their Cons: People working their, Feed is OLD, and Parking more

OUR MARE THANKS YOU!! 4/11/2007

Having shopped in tack stores all my life I think I can safely say that El Toro Tack is one of the nicest stores of it's kind. I was looking for a saddle for our boney-backed mare who was not being ridden due to saddle sore issues from an ill fitting saddle. The help I recieved from the staff was outstanding. She is now a Happy Horse with a well-fitting saddle! Thanks !! Pros: knowledgeable staff, great location Cons: not that I know of.... more

Great Service! 4/11/2007

I have been a long time customer of El Toro Tack and Feed. I find all their employees to be extremely helpful and courteous. This store caters to both English and Western riders with something for everybody. If they don't have it, they will find it for you. When we purchased a saddle for my daughter's horse and found that it didn't fit right, they took it back with no questions and helped us find the saddle that worked for us and the horse. I usually buy my hay at this store as it is much higher quality than what I have delivered from another store in the area. I am a bird lover and always enjoy the Canaries, cockatiels and the Macaw that are residents of El Toro Tack! Go in and check them out! Pros: service, ambience, employee knowledge Cons: small parking lot more
