What a treat and delicious fresh and healthy food for so affordable price! We always had to drive to Margate to have the best Colombian culinary experience at Balcon and now we have it next door in Deerfield Beach on Power Line. Prices are very attractive and portions more then you can eat, like lunch special for 6.99 includes: bowl of Soup, hefty salad and a large plate of meats and rice ( changes daily ). Other items are 8-10$ range, and we always bring half back home it is so big. Being from Europe, I cannot spell most of the items, most resemble some of the dishes we know from Greece and Italy (like Currasco is out of this world ) Unlike 99% of chain restaurants ( Rubbys, Fridays, Cheesecake Factories etc. are giving you highly processed food cooked days before, frozen and shipped to be warmed up in the kitchen) Balcon has everything done in house: fresh, juicy, prepared daily. You can see Chef cutting and cooking everything while you wait. Service is best around, Colombian young ladies ( most of them students ) are polite, always smiling and checking with you several times making sure you are happy with what you get. Nice and healthy kids selection. To make your culinary pleasure unforgettable, guitar player on weekends adds a mood with flamenco rhythms. Owners are keeping the whole place clinically clean, bathrooms are shining (and there is a little play area for small kids - it is important for families with little ones ) Once you come here once, trust me - you WILL come back many times and tell all your family and friends about best kept secret in town: "Balcon de las americas" ***** 5 Stars ( would give them 6, if I could ). Very happy customer. (Visiting at least once a week.)
