My parents were visiting from Canada and we were referred to Eddies Place for Sunday morning breakfast on April 17, 2010.
The service was quick, friendly and attentive. We looked forward to a nice family breakfast.
When served, the French toast, hashbrowns and bacon were tepid (just barely warm) and when we mentioned this to the waiter, he was attentive and offered to take it back to the kitchen; however, we wanted to eat together as a family so we continued to eat the cold food.
Another waitress (supervisor) came over and asked what the problem was. When we repsonded the food was barely warm when served and now cold, she repsonded with "I don't understand how it could be cold". But we can heat it up for you... too late, breakfast was half eaten and in her comment she insinuated we didn't have cold food.
The bacon, hashbrowns and French toast were not cooked to order, but came to us precooked and from a steam table in the kitchen (I have worked for many years in the food industry).
We were told the breakfast was "on them" and the bill was zeroed with the comment "didn't like"; however, we told them we preferred to have a nice hot breakfast, not a free breakfast. We paid our bill, with tip, and left eating only half our food and totalled disappointed.
I would not have high expectations of this Eddies Place location (Ballantyne area). It is managed completely different from the other Eddies Place location (Sharon Ave area).
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: Serves tepid pre-cooked foods
