Ed's Family Restaurant

Good: The pizza was great! Cheese was stringy, just the way it should be. They will make the crust just the thickness you like. Had breakfast there, too. Very good! My wife had pancakes...2 pancakes meant 2 full plate pancakes. Waitresses are VERY friendly!. Bad: Can't think of anything we didn't like!. Improvements: Just a simple restaurant, nothing fancy. I wouldn't change anything.. Other: Prices are typical for this type of restaurant. A person mentioned smoke...no more smoking in restaurants in Michigan, so smoke is not a problem. Neat fish tanks!. more

I love their fried food! If you want to indulge yourself this is the place. You get great servings for a good price. I can never eat everything I order. The breakfast is served all day now and my son and I can not get enough of the hash browns. My family likes to go for breakfast every Sunday when Ed is cooking. That is the best! more

but it is your typical small town restaurant. It gets pretty smoky in there which gives me a headaches so I avoid places like that as much as possible. We have gone as a family a couple of times and we have enjoyed ourselves but it isn't my favorite place to go. They also have pizza and it is okay but it isn't nearly as good as BC Pizza across the street. I stick with the specials. more

Ed's family restaurants has 2 locations now. One located in Howard City and one just on the outskirts of town on M46(just off the exit on US 131). The location in town is currently being remodeled,but the M46 location is open for business. Ed's has a wide variety of meals to choose from. There is a kid's menu as well. There are daily specials and Friday night is All You Can Eat Fried Fish night. Menu choices range from American(like burgers) to Italian(including pizza). If you have a family that can't decide what they want or if everyone always wants something different, Ed's is a good place to go. The location on M46 is a medium sized place,while the location in town is larger. They both have a hometown feel and a very casual environment. While I wouldn't recommend it for a night on the town,it's a decent place to eat and the food is pretty decent. more
