Eastern Star Restaurant

Eastern Star is okay sometimes and sometimes not. I typically order BBQ spareribs. Sometimes they are fantastic and meaty, other times dry and measly. We only go there for take out. The rice has been the same way. Sometimes its really fresh and other times it tastes like it has been under heat lamps for hours. My husband orders chicken wings a lot and crab rangoon. The wings are so-so, the rangoon is usally good. more

I would definately recommend the Nime Chow can't really speak for much else... You get a good portion size for a pretty descent price. What more can you ask for?? more

Most definitely the worst Chinese Food experience I ever experienced. I order Generals Chicken and Boneless Spare Ribs. A large portion of the Generals Chicken was lumps of soggy batter. As for the Spare Ribs, the top two inches of the container were fresh. The bottom of the container was hard, dry and very old. We order delivery from this restaurant frequently. All of the food is great, we have never really had a bad meal from there and we have had the egg foo young, ribs, chicken teryaki, fried rice, nime chow, beef teryaki, etc. If you are looking for a nice place to go to dinner though, I do not recommend the restaurant because we went in once and the service was horrible. We were the only ones in the whole place (because everyone get delivery) and it took forever to get waited on and she was not very happy. Food is sooo Greasy.. wont deliver down the street for $12.. Dont order you will regret it. Very gloomyawful experience we were sitting down for 20 minutes before someone came over to even take our drink order. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Usually I try very hard to mention some good points in any review I do. This will be very difficult for Eastern Star. We ordered the Eastern Star sampler (bbq boneless ribs, beef teriaki, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, lo mein, chicken wings) and scallion pancakes. The small bit of good that prevents this from a one star rating - the pancakes were ok, and the wings were decent. Everything else was bad and the rice, lo mein and sweet and sour chicken were extremely greasy. Not to mention that the nuggets of chicken in the sweet and sour weren't cooked all the way through. The teriaki was edible but didn't taste like teriaki. The pork was disgusting -mostly gristly, fat and tough nasty meat. Even thought the order was delivered promptly (maybe they weren't very busy!), there is simply no way we will eat there again.
