The East Village Bed & Coffee is a great place to stay. They only offer shared bathrooms which almost put me off staying there, but I'm glad it didn't. They were spotless and there really was no issue sharing them with other guests on the floor. The kitchens are fully equipped and there are common rooms for the guests to share. (We didn't use the kitchens, but if you were on a tight budget it is nice to know that you'd have them available). The rooms have a a medium amount of space available for your items and the air conditioning in the room was excellent. From the moment the owner greeted us, she made us feel right at home. She offered great advice (and reviews) of local restaurants. If you needed laundry facilities, there is an nexpensive laundry very close by. The facility is also close to a coffeeshop, an ATM and, for safety, there is even a police station a block away. The only negative to the setting was that it is in a lively night area, so after hours it was quite noisy. If that won't bother you too much, this is a great place to stay.
