Duran A-Quality Universal Plumbing

Nice people but absolutely unreliable. They have the worst follow-through and they fix things at their leisure without a sense of urgency. We had a water heater problem and it was something incredibly simple but took them 16 days to resolve it… that is unacceptable!!. We now have a water pressure regulator problem that has been reported since November 16 and on December 28, they are still asking us to give them SOME time to resolve it because 42 days has not been enough. Under any circumstances, the time they take to make a 20 minute (tops) repair is ludicrous. I am very disappointed that it is the only contractor of choice our home owners insurance can provide. I would absolutely never call them to contract them out of pocket. Stay away from them if you are in urgent need of plumbers. more

We had a leak in a pipe on New Year's Day in a pipe THEY installed a couple of years ago. I hired them because the work was ""guaranteed,"" but they didn't even call back. A couple of weeks and a few phone calls later, someone finally came out and looked, but said that the piping wasn't actually guaranteed (just the fittings or some-such nonsense) because it had a hole in it. Well, they never strapped down the pipe when they connected it, so even though that may actually have contributed to the problem, they still wanted to charge me for the ""guaranteed"" work. We also have a 3-month old baby, and don't know anything much about plumbing... nor can we spare the time or money for the runaround we received. I will never pay them another dime and do not trust them. I also suspect the good reviews posted here, because no reviews were published on this company until they received their first bad review... but maybe those folks just lucked out w/them. Yes, as I suspected. We posted this review and then one miraculously was posted Super Bowl Sunday. Liars, cheats and thieves, folks. Anyway, customer service is terrible and I feel as though I was deceived so they could get my money in the first place. I wish I'd found another plumber when I needed one. BAD referral on the part of my homebuyers' insurance company... they should drop this company and fast! I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau... steer clear! more

Had a huge water leak in my upstairs bathroom,my husband was out of town and I have a 3 month old baby. Not fun! I thought for sure I was gonna get ripped off cause i don't know squat about plumbing prices or parts blah blah, it's all greek to me. Anyways, I called duran and sons and they sent out James ( a little life saver). He fixed the leak and turns out they were inexpensive. Glad I found them when I needed them. more

I needed some serious work done on my house. I've been here for about 20 years and things were starting to just fall apart. I called three different plumbers ( i won't mention any names) and the estimates seemed nuts! I ain't rich by any means. That same week a neighbor was having work done at their house and I asked the plumber from duran and sons plumbing if they could give me an estimate. We talked for a minute and he called his boss, I had an estimate faxed to me that day and the work was being started the following day. They used a trenchless machine and they didn't even have to break up my yard! I'm an elderly man and I'm used to jerks trying to rip me off but these guys were great and treated me with respect. I trusted these characters because they claimed customer service was SOOOO important to them. It's not. They charged me an exhorbitant amount of money for a bathtub, and it was a cheap little tub that was about three inches more shallow than the tub they replaced. The manager wouldn't even call me back when I complained to the gal answering the phone. They didn't hook up the plumbing to the evap cooler when that was supposed to be included with the whole house repipe. They left gaping holes in my roof and now I have potential water damage in one of my bathrooms. Not to mention, the drywall guys used one of my CURTAINS and just... threw it over a section they apparently didn't feel like cleaning. \r \r They're supposed to fix the evap cooler, but I wouldn't even take my chances with these clowns if I were you. Try Rapid Plumbing or Mike Diamond instead... or get referrals from others. Do NOT use Duran & Sons if you want things done well and the job to go smoothly!!! Pros: The first guy who came out was nice. Copper pipes look okay. Cons: Terrible customer service, holes in roof, unfinished job, drywall job was not good. more
