Drexeline Great Value

for the millinth time how come u guys charge extra to get meat cut thin 4 a hoagie??I been to all fresh grocers in philly but the one on 56th street day shift deli is loaded with rude people who keep insisting that in order 4 me to get the meat thin an extra dollar?they dont do that no other fresh grocer every time i try to get a hoagie they make it @40th st but your day shift people are so rude they never wear name tags and they refuse to give u their names I hope someone addresses that is ridiculous to b charged they cut that meat all thick and its alot of meat!! more

I've lived in the area for 12 years and in that amount of time Drexeline has done a number on it's store and not in a good way. The employees are down right rude, immature, vulgar and continue to smoke outside even though there are signs all over that tell them not to! Every time I leave the register, I check my receipt and end up at the costumer service desk because I am always charged for something that was supposed to be on sale and it didn't come off....happens every time!!! I now shop at Save-a-lot in Lansdowne where the employees are very polite and knowledgeable. The prices are great too. Of course its a no frills store and the deli isn't on par with D-line, as a result, I'm forced to go to Drexeline once a month to get my meats. Why can't Drexeline take more pride and clean up all the trash outside the store? Save-a-lot is always clean...ALWAYS. Drexeline has cigarette butts, papers & gum all over the ground. It needs to be addressed badly!!!! I've even heard employees inside the store dropping the f-bomb. This is just horrible. Why should my kids be subjected to this? Not to mention how expensive everything is...that speaks for itself! more

I used to shop there but not anymore..rude service and their meats are no longer desired by anybody in my house plus the biggest mistake they did was they got rid of LeBus Italian bread & replaced it with junk crap that goes stale in a day more

I think that of all the grocery stores that they have the best meats. Great store! more

I love Fresh Grocer! Yes, they're older and smaller and a little quirky. But at least there is personality and a sense of community. The deli counter is an experience all its own. Its almost like the counter at the "corner store" where everyone talks to everyone...here, mostly about the great meats. Their fresh meats and deli beat anyone in the area for quality, freshness and price. If you are looking for an Acme or Giant experience, you won't get here. Fine w/me. I hate chains. But if you love real markets with real people and real food, you'll love Fresh Grocer. more

I actually hate to shop here but since it's right near my house I do from time to time because it's close. It is terrible every time! Poor service, slow workers, terrible isles, I can't say enough of how much I hate this store. Poor produce, slop! more

Drexeline is one of the few mainstream grocery stores that stocks organic produce and foods. A good alternative to when you can't afford/can't get to Whole Foods. It's true that the staff could be a bit more attentive (even the managers seem very YOUNG and rather unconcerned), but they do give refunds easily when the item purchased doesn't work out (say, when the nice Trickling Springs milk in the glass bottle turns out to be sour). more

Good luck coming out of this place without wanting to smack someone! The lines are insane, the lunch-meat counter is ridiculous (will someone take a number please!), and the kids that work there are clueless and careless. Don't even bother to ask for any assistance because you're just a big problem to them. Save yourself some peace of mind and make a trip to Genuardi's instead. more
